Re: What kind of tape to use?
I use normal bandage, taping my mouth vertically. I can release air pressure in my mouth if need to. I can cough ... No smelly painter's tape. I just find the cheapest bandage I can find. Works good.

Re: Please help me understand what happened
I would try to eliminate air leak first. I am not a mouth breather, but with the machine I can sleep better and very relax, I have several nights with my mouth open. I woke up with dry mouth. I tried painter tape as some people suggested, however, don't like the smell of the tape. I am now using the...

Re: S9 H5i not heating Please Help!
I believe the heating is for regular the amount of humidity only, not provide warm air - that is the job for the heating hose.

We have discussed this before:

Yes, turn up the humidity setting and test it out.
My setting is 4 now, and seem to work fine. Every night used about 1 level of water.

Re: All S9 users - Is H5i working ??
Have you tried to rise the humidity and test it out. I have wrote on another thread: Last night I set the humidifier to the max (6), woke up around 5:30 am and heard strange wesing sound (like it is in a turbo mode) from the machine. Was I woke up by that noise?! don't know. I open the water chamber...

Re: How much water spent with H5i?
Its purpose is to provide a positive air flow that keeps any moist air (from the humidifer) from getting back into the S9, and to generally clear any moist air out of the humidifer/tube/mask air circuit. Good point Bill about the air flow. I clean my nasal pillow every morning, and I would run thro...

Re: All S9 users - Is H5i working ??
I thought about the firmware issue this morning, but looks like everyone is using SX474-0601 version.
I pre-heat the tank last night, the heating pad became quite warm, however in the morning, back to room temperature again. Water down 1 level, previously only 1/2 level, must due to the pre-heat.

Re: All S9 users - Is H5i working ??
We have central humidifier at home as well, temperature set at 20c at night.
H5i use very little water, half way between markers each night. The only way to have the plate warm up is pre-head it. Plate always, always cold.
I have been using the slimline host only.

How much water spent with H5i?
Humidifier set at 4, and CPAP set at 9 cm H2O. I use about half as much water between two markers per night, so a full tank could last almost 10 days. Is it normal? The H5i NEVER get warm during use, is it normal for a heated humidifier? After each use, the blower will ‘cooling down’ the unit, so wh...

Re: Sleep Apnea and life insurance
As a successful CPAP user, my condition actually better than most light to moderate sleep apnea suffers who don't use the device. With the reading around 0 - 0.3ish, heck I don't even have apnea any more. Now it is the matter of compliance. If I can proof to the insurance company and it believe me, ...

Would sleep apnea affect your life insurance premium? Or would you be able to get a new life insurance at all?

Re: Ontario residents--are you happy with your equipment provdr?
Not happy with my provider here in Kitchener either. I found that like many on this board the provider just wanted to sell me the machine that they had in mind with little concern for what I actually wanted. I had to "fight" with them to sell me a Resmed S8 Elite. When I bought it I knew that the S...
