Getting off arrhythmia medication

I was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and have been on CPAP for five days. I just got back from a consult with my arrhythmia doctor. (I take 100 mg of flecainide twice a day.) She said that treatment for apnea can eliminate arrhythmia some of the time. There are many factors that go int...

Re: Sinus Pressure

Hey, me too. I'm on day 4. And today I woke up with sinus pain in my upper right nostril next to my eye. And when I push on it, yow it hurts. I talked to the DME rep and she asked if I was using the humidified (Yes). Then she asked if I had any leaks. I told her that last night I noticed leaks on th...

Re: new dude

Hi Seeker01, all I can say is wow. I was told by the sleep center that I would have 30 days to exchange my mask. And the DME told me this as well. I thought this was standard. But in talking to a friend about his experience, he said that as soon as the mask hit his skin, it was his to keep. In my ca...

Got my CPAP today - question

I just got my CPAP machine! I thought I wouldn’t have any surprises with the DME because my doctor asked for a specific CPAP (Respironics Pro M 450 DS Series with Smart Card) and a specific mask. I went to the DME and this very nice young, young woman presented me with a REM Star Auto A-Flex with Sm...

Re: Adrenal Fatigue

20 years ago after the birth of my second child I had some chronic conditions that the western guys couldn't help me with. I ended up taking all kinds of medications. In frustration and desperation I went to an acupuncturist. She told me my fire had drowned out my water. And she also said that after...

Re: Good DME in Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina

I emailed my friend who lives in the Chaple Hill area a few weeks ago when I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and asked him for advice on DME's and machines. He has had 2 CPAPs, one he got in the Washington, D.C. area and the other in NC. He really like Lin Care in NC. Here' what he said. On the secon...

Re: Newbie self educate before Dr's appointment.

I'll be getting a CPAP machine on Thursday (Respironics Pro 450 with heated humidifier). I talked to a member of the staff at the sleep center several days after the study. She said that the doctor had written a prescription for the exact machine that they used in my sleep study, along with a heated...

Thank you for the web reference. I will definitely check it out. And thank you for all of your personal experiences. I don't feel so alone (and without options). Bonnie

Re: are there alternatives to cpap

My husband tried the mask at the sleep center and hated it. Didn't even try to go the CPAP route. He followed up with a dentist and got a mouth piece that moves his jaw forward to create more room. It seems to be working, but he says he uses it only 50% of the time. He hasn't complained about it bei...

Re: Anyone with Improvement in Arrhythmia?

Thank you for your responses. I'm on Flecainide (100 mg twice a day) and coumadin. The Flecainide has been 100% effective in eliminating the arrhythmia and my doctors have done their job. But immediately upon taking this drug a year ago, I felt nervous (very uncomfortable) and that has continued, my...

Anyone with Improvement in Arrhythmia?

I should get my CPAP next week. I know it will be life changing. I'm so hopeful from what I've read on this forum that my blood pressure will decrease. I haven't seen anyone talk about what CPAP treatment will do for arrhythmia. Can this improve as well? Please say yes. I sure don't like the side ef...
