Re: Dry mouth - what causes it?
After thinking things over, I've come to the conclusion that it's probably humidity that's too high. I've been bumping up humidity since February since it has gradually been getting warmer. Last week we had a little heat wave in NJ - so the A/C has been blasting full force - making me sleep in a muc...

Re: Dry mouth - what causes it?
Hi Jaylee, thank you for your reaction. Not taking any medication, so that's outruled.
The good news is that the problem has become less in recent nights - but it bothers me that I do not know what caused it.

Dry mouth - what causes it?
Early in the morning I wake up with a dry mouth. Parchment dry. Really uncomfortable. Wakes me up, I think. Now, before you come in with suggestions: 1) My nose tells me humidity is fine (I've gone through the whole too wet/too dry thing already) 2) I don't think it's mouth breathing. Unless I'm abl...

Re: Noises on my machine
Does the 15-20m coincide with your ramp time? Not that it helps in any way but it might help you getting a step closer to figuring out what is going on.

Re: CPAP software community proposal
The software from each manufacturer is different. The data files and structures are different.......from manufacturer to manufacturer and from machine generation to machine generation. The manufacturers write different versions of software for each generation of machine they release. (most are back...

Re: Newbie and Airlines
Don't forget that the pressure on board of the aircraft will be equivalent to that of an altitude of around 10,000' - you might want to find out in advance how that is going to affect your required pressure (more? less?). And unless you're having one of those really fancy seats you'll be sitting nea...

Re: AHI = 0.0
Hi Dave, thank you for your reply. I do realize that an AHI of zero is what we're going for. What I meant was that sofar I would wake up around 4, 5, or 6AM by what I suspect is the mask being displaced. It's hard to tell what exactly as I'm extremely groggy at that point (I have to get used to this...

AHI = 0.0
I've been on therapy for almost a month now. I don't have a cardreader and software - yet - I don't want to look at numbers before I know what they mean and before I can gauge things a little bit better. Last night, however, was the first night that the machine reported an AHI of 0.0 - and I could t...

Re: cpap for 9 days and energy
Same here for another noob! I've been on "the machine" for three weeks now and although it took some adjusting I now manage to sleep through the entire night (if I do wake up at 4AM, like I did this morning, I even manage to fall back asleep - another step forward). It's nice to get up in the mornin...

For the third or fourth day in a row. All day long my nose is just fine. And now when bed time is approaching the damn thing clogs completely up. Hrrrraaaaaaa!!!
Sorry, I just had to vent.

Re: Newbie introducing himself
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Jersey Girl, I live up north, about 20 miles west from NYC. Having my AHI below 1 is great, it's just a matter of getting used to the mask I assume. As for ramping - I'm still experimenting. Right now, my pressure is 11 ( and who came up with "cm H2O"? What kind...

Newbie introducing himself
Hi, I'm 40yrs old, I live in New Jersey and since two weeks "putting my nose to the hose". After two sleep studies (first one diagnosing with an AHI of 30, second one titration) and a loooong time waiting (provider didn't get the fax from my doctor. Why are they faxing in this day and age?) I finall...
