Re: OT - My new hobby ...
John, I have not been on the boards in a long time and it is so refreshing to see this side of you! Your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your wonderful paintings and thanks for all of your help with my son. He is doing very well thanks to a lot of you here. I will be forever grateful that I...

Re: My son the trooper
SU, I cannot help in regards to the technical side of all of this but I do want add to what Kody stated earlier about the monitor. We use a “baby monitor” with our youngest son to hear when he alarms his oximeter at night. The monitor that we have is very sensitive and picks up and amplifies the oxy...

Re: anestesia, surgery, OSA and central apnea?
Evan, I noticed your post and when you said OSA and Central it caught my attention. I realize that there are a lot of issues with OSA but the CSA is also a cause for concern. When a person has Central only there is a lot of concern about anesthesia and most doctors will say that Central Apnea patien...

Re: Source of Oxygen Concentrator Reviews or Recommendations
torontoCPAPguy, We have had three different oxygen concentrators in the past year. The first one that we started with was the Devilbiss 525 and we had no issues with it whatsoever. It ran a 48 decibel average. It took getting used to the sound but it was bearable. The reason that we got rid of the D...

Re: Oxygen with xPAP...50 ft hose...?
Hi, My son is on oxygen at night delivered via nasal cannula. When we were set up with the first DME they put a humidifier with a 50' cord attached to his nasal cannula and set the oxygen at .25 liters and left. When we switched DME's they came out and set up the Concentrator, humidifier, and 25' co...

Re: Help! Travel and o2 concentrator
When you were set up with the oxygen concentrator they should have given you some oxygen tanks at that time also. Our DME set us up with the concentrator (DeVilbiss 525 with a Pediatric Flow Regulator and humidifier) and a few oxygen tanks to use if there is an issue with the concentrator of if we g...

Re: Links to Central Apnea
Great info everyone! Thanks. John, question for you. Do you have any websites linking the kidney issue with the central sleep apnea? As you know our son's apneas are 100% Central in nature. The Neuro thinks that there might be an underlying condition and we have had the heart and brain tested thouro...

Re: 4 year old update
Thank you for your concern. I agree about the DME but my husband's insurance changes at the first of the year and out of 5 DMEs that I have contacted this is the only one that will accept his new insurance on January 1st! Have a list of more DMEs to call this afternoon, I just wish that this headach...

Re: 4 year old update
Simbalionguy: Regarding your oxygen tank theroy I would tend to agree with you! The sad thing is that we do not have extra pieces of paper that have green rectangular portraits of Presidents! I am hoping that the Neurologist calls the DME and asks why they chose to disregard the prescription for the...

Re: 4 year old update
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. I know that this is what cpaptalk.com was and still is all about! As for our son, he is a champ and the sweetest little guy! His main issue with the canula right now is waking at night and having this "thing" on his face and it not being the right si...
