Re: Pulmonary hypertension
At 60 the major reason I was sent for a sleep study was PH - trusting that CPAP therapy will be effective.

Re: This is all so overwhelming
If you have felt alone and unsupported, this is the right place to come. Although my husband tried to be supportive, he really couldn't understand the emotional and physical issues of CPAP therapy - the folks on this forum do! - - - supportive and are full of good, practical advice! After you are su...

Happy Camper!
Just got my Encore Viewer 2.0 and card reader. One of the easiest installations I've ever done. Was able to read my data without a visit to the DME! I feel empowered!

Re: Night 1 - Please Help
Don't give up after just one night! I threw my mask against the wall several nights before I found the right one. It may take some time for you to adjust to having something on your face. Try wearing it for short periods of time gradually adding some time. I'd ask again about why the C-flex was disa...

Re: Newbee Here Has A Girl Question
I was just getting to post almost the same question. I'm wearing the Easylife Nasal Mask and did not have an immediate reaction but now after about 6 weeks I have small red bumps- like the beginning of a zit but without the "head" in on my cheeks & the bridge of my nose. I saw the mask liner on the ...

Re: Stupid mask... tell me that eventually it gets comfortable
Like Maryland CPAPer I've been lucky to find a DME that will let me try on different masks, take them home with a 30 day return policy. Re: data collection - I've seen a strand on here that says the user software for our machine has just recently been made available. You can purchase your own and se...

Re: Stupid mask... tell me that eventually it gets comfortable
re: reading data - I have the same machine. Do you have an SD card in the back? Since I don't have the software at home, I have taken the card to my DME 3 different times and they have given me a print out, explaining what each graph means. Ask your DME if they can read it for you. re: masks - I kno...

Re: Stupid mask... tell me that eventually it gets comfortable
The time it takes to adjust to this new "thing" varies from person to person. If you will go to "User Control Panel" and post what kind of machine & mask you have, someone with a similar mask might be able to give you suggestions. I fought with my first two masks for the first month - literally thro...

Re: Freaking Out!
Although I'm a good bit older than you, I had an emotional melt-down when I was first diagnosed. I didn't have anyone "blaming" me but I didn't have anyone "supporting" me either - at first. Then I found this forum and someone on here always had the right advice, the right suggestion and the right e...

more good news :)
Just returned from a visit to my DME. After 9 days (and nights) with the new equipment, I told him that I wanted to see a read-out of what's been going on. In less than 10 minutes, I had an 11 page report which he went over page by page explaining what the numbers and graphs meant! What a refreshing...

Re: Newbie intro and a question about "DME" and equipment
In response to GumbyCTs request: When I went to my pulmonologist, I explained to her why I thought I needed a fully data capable machine (based on the reading and research from this forum - I even took "rested gal" s list of acceptable machines). She concurred and wrote "fully data capable CPAP with...

Re: Newbie intro and a question about "DME" and equipment
I had a similar situation - got stuck with a basic machine that only recorded compliance info. Was having some physical and emotional issues with the situation. After doing lots of research and reading on this forum, I decided I wanted/needed a data capable machine. Was also some communication issue...
