Re: Desperately need help!
My plan didn't work. I changed MinPS and MaxPS to zero, and slept for a couple hours off and on, and my AHI was 33. I changed everything back and my AHI this morning was 15. I'm still exhausted, but I'm going to leave the machine alone and let the respiratory therapist deal with it on Monday. Thanks...

Re: Desperately need help!
OK, I set my MinPS and MaxPS both at zero in an attempt to replicate what happened before. We'll see how it goes tonight--maybe I'll create a kind of ghetto auto cpap.

Re: sleep and food article
My nutritionist tells me that lack of sleep affects insulin resistance, which for me leads to a craving for carbs and a slowing of my weight loss.

Re: Desperately need help!
The tech set the machine like my doctor prescribed, but like I said, she knew something was *wrong* when it gave me an identical ipap and epap. She wasn't sure what was wrong, but she took it to another tech and they said it had to do with a "pressure support" thing. I obviously don't know exactly ...

Re: Desperately need help!
My doctor isn't very helpful. I would have to make an appointment and probably couldn't get in until next week anyway. If I truly can't get my sleep apnea resolved by a machine--which, it looks like, I can't--I will try to go see the pulmonologist who read my sleep study. I've never been to a pulmon...

Re: Desperately need help!
Like I said, my DME said there's nothing they can do until Monday. And I can't wait that long or else my mental status will deterioriate further
NO offense taken. Sleep deprivation dose terrible things to the mind.

If it matters, here's where I found the manual, but I can't find my answer in here:

Desperately need help!
I have a respironics auto bipap machine. How do I change it to auto cpap mode? I've looked in the online user manual but can't find the answer. I think it has something to do with pressure support. It's a loooong story ... but basically, got the new auto bipap, and my AHI gradually went down to 6, w...

Re: AHI/AI skyrocketing after gastric bypass surgery
I'm going to update this in case anyone in the future goes through something similar--looks like my AHI was super high because my pressure was too high for me after losing weight. Resp. therapist put me on an auto bipap, and for my first night last night, my 90 percent pressure was 12.5. That's quit...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Metabolic Syndrome
This makes a lot of sense. I have severe insulin resistance (polycystic ovary syndrome) and it's been the worst during the past few years, when my sleep apnea started.

Re: CPAP in hospital - frustration!
I was recently in the hospital and experienced something kinda similar. Before surgery, I was told multiple times to bring my hose and mask and write down my settings. But during my three nights there, I never used it. Had a nasal canula of oxygen all the time and a pulse ox on my finger, tho. When ...

Re: AHI and Time of CPAP
I've been on cpap or bipap since 2007. I was put on bipap in 2010, and since then have averaged 8 or so a night. I went back and forth with the DME because I didn't think that was good enough, but they view anything under 10 as OK. Right now I'm struggling with a super high AHI post-surgery, so I wo...
