Re: 9 Nights, Seems to be Getting Better

CPAPCub, Actually it does make sense and I suspect it's what I'm starting to recognize. I now have a very active life. I run 5 days a week now with totals between 30 - 50 miles per week. I think I'm beginning to recognize signs of being tired from effort versus exhaustion from sleep deprivation and ...

Re: Weight loss advice needed

I'm relatively new to CPAP therapy myself, so I won't comment on the answers others have given. I would simply say, my wife started bugging me to ask my doctor about a sleep study when I weighed about 320 lbs. She was concerned because I "stopped breathing" at night. I addressed the weight issue fir...

9 Nights, Seems to be Getting Better

Thanks to all who have posted helpful hints to my past two responses. I loosened up my mask and now don't wake up feeling like someone's been pushing on my nose trying to make a pig face all night. I seem to be sleeping better sometimes. I wake up more at night than I did without the headgear. So fa...

Re: Four nights and getting more tired by the day

imtired, Thanks for the response. I'll give that a try. The nose soreness feels like someone is pushing up the end of my nose trying to make a pig face ... so maybe it is too tight. It could be that rotating the hose pulled up on the end of it enough that it needs loosened. I'll give that a try. Tha...

Four nights and getting more tired by the day

Well, I've now made it through 4 nights on the hose sorta. After a few nights of waking up terrified that someone was trying to suffocate me, I realized I was feeling stuffy so I cranked up the humidifier from 2 to 4 and I can now breathe freely all night. However after 4 nights I've only managed 2 ...

Re: Survived the First Night

Hawthorne,

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry I thought I had edited my profile yesterday, but I guess I forgot to apply the settings.

After using ramp one time I gave up on it. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Survived the First Night

Well I survived my first night of nasal pillow torture. My wife was kind and didn't even hit me when I started leaking and woke her up. In addition to having OSA, I'm a bit of an insomniac at times. I only managed 3.9 hours on the machine and one of those was with me awake. I'm generally a pretty so...

Re: Thank You All

Thank you both for the welcome. From our first conversation I could tell the lady at this DME would be the one I'd choose. She was extremely patient and helpful. I live in an area where wells are common and water problems abound. Of course as helpful as they were they are a business, I did have to p...

Thank You All

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to those of you who have spent so much time and energy on this site. I was recently diagnosed with OSA and given a prescription for a CPAP machine. I found you all via Google and read the New Users Start here comments and a few other posts, after I had contact...
