Re: So angry with my DME....
Thought I'd share an update. I got a phone call last Friday from a new person handling my account for the DME. Not only am I getting a new machine, the girl formerly responsible for my account and who was responsible for this mess has been fired. I hate that someone had to suffer as a result of my s...

Re: So angry with my DME....
I realize that we need to take personal responsibility for our health, but I guess I come from an age where you trusted your providers....because THEY have the education and know how....Ohhhh how wrong I was! I should have known something was wrong the minute I spotted that "tramp stamp" on her back...

So angry with my DME....
Back in March, my machine broke and my DME replaced it with another one....It was a different machine and when I questioned it, she told me it was just an updated model. That night when I went to bed, I was unable to adjust my mask without having to tighten it severely. I complained to the DME and t...

Re: Mirage Quattro leaving red marks on neck
I have the very same problem and it is very painful. A couple of places develop little "whitehead" looking bumps that are painful as well. I believe it is an irritation from the strap and since I have to put it back on every night, it has difficulty healing. I have recently started putting a folded ...

Re: How to tape mouth shut
Thanks so much for the links....a LOT of helpful information there! It's also nice to know that I am not the only one who has struggled with these problems. I was starting to think I had some sort of odd shaped face since the "tried and true" Fisher Paykel leaked on me LOL!

Re: How to tape mouth shut
Maybe I didn't word things correctly. I don't know if my mouth is falling open or if it is my jaw dropping...all I know is that I am being awakened during the night with extremely LOUD "facial farting" as my hubby calls it LOL! I asked for a new mask...got the Fisher Paykel that goes under the chin....

How to tape mouth shut
Sorry...I am sure this has been discussed...but just how does one tape their mouth (vertically with several strips??) and what type of tape do you use? I have come to the conclusion that I need to do this...I feel certain that my mouth is falling open thereby causing terrible leaks.

Re: Sleep Test Required Before Surgery
I am one of those chronic snoring patients who went into surgery without knowledge of my sleep apnea. After being moved to recovery, I was given meds for pain and as they pushed the drugs into my IV, I stopped breathing. After they gave me NarCan and restored my breathing, a Cpap machine was brought...

Re: Teeth alignment shifting
Lately I have noticed that my bottom teeth are shifting. I wear a full face mask and the bottom of it hits at my gum line on my chin. When I wake up each morning, my teeth feel a bit looser for a few hours and now I notice that they are shifting....and that one tooth is almost being "squeezed out" ...

Re: Is It Me Or Were My Expectations Just Too High?
I have been on my bi-pap machine since February and so far I awake feeling better, but not necessarily ready to hit the ground running. While my awakening energy may not be overwhelmingly different, I have noticed that my energy level over all has greatly increased. I am able to take walks without g...

Re: Feeling discouraged
Apparently the data showed that my oxygen dropped to low 80's during REM sleep....so they added the oxygen and tweaked the settings a bit. I was told that I was doing quite well with my therapy...that they were just adjusting a few things. My frustration is at having to deal with not only the bi-pap...

Feeling discouraged
I have been on my bi-pap machine for two months now. I did a pulse ox check for my doctor last week and got the results. Seems my pulse ox rate falls to around 80 during REM sleep so today I had to pick up an oxygen compressor and they lowered my pressure to 12 instead of 14. I am only going to be g...

Re: Ever had vertigo due to inner ear infection?
I'm going through this right now, the second time in a month. I will be seeing an ENT soon to have that maneuver...but for the time being, I am having to sit rather still and avoid any rapid movements. I know how you feel...it's horrible! Hope you find some relief soon! I have to wonder and I have a...
