Re: Day 20 Still some AHI events: Normal?
"Q: Is there a pattern... are you getting less now or is it getting worse... or has it stayed the same." When I eat dairy, I feel suffocated and can only wear the mask ~5 hours. I feel better when I wear it the whole night. It's easy to say, Don't eat dairy, but harder to avoid. Q: How do you feel??...

Day 20 Still some AHI events: Normal?
I'm having trouble posting the graphics, but I have 10 AI Events during a 7-1/2 hour sleep. Two were 21 "lollie pops" which I'm guessing are seconds of no breathing.
Any tips on posting the graphic?

Re: I've Got a Question for You!
On the Elite II, press the Left and Right buttons for a few seconds. What are the AHI, AI and HI values?
You may be having more Apnea events. My cousin just had to have her pressure bumped up, she had body aches and pains all over again.

6th night on my new CPAP
I got a head cold, wife has it too. The sinus congestion is fierce, so I, again, only lasted 5.5 hours. I was tempted to put some Vicks in the humidifier. I used the chin strap last night, if my mouth opens, the Mirage Quattro leaks on the bottom. The chin strap fixed this. The Respironics premium i...

5th night on my new CPAP
Leak rate 0.18L/S... still not much of a memory. Hypoxia Brain.
5.5 hours last night. I got closterphobia from the mask. I'm not a good candidate for The Lone Ranger or Zorro...huh?

Could you be breathing or snoring through your mouth during these Events?
My cousin also braggs about the Swift FX, but also began snoring recently too.

Re: 4th night on my new CPAP
Leak rate was ~0.5, somehow the data was erased. Maybe it was because I had to unplug the unit today. I use a Mirage Quattro mask, I do need a chin strap, since my mouth opens, then the mask leaks, then I wake up. I wasn't asleep continuously, but I had it on the whole night for the first time. Alka...

4th night on my new CPAP
The first 3 nights were horrible, leaky mask, sinus congestion, velcro scratching... My 4th night was 7:54 minutes, much better: AHI 6.3 AI 0.8 HI 5.5 I think that washing my face just B4 bedtime keeps the silicone mask from slipping out. Shaving too. Resmed S8 Elite II, Pressure 9, H3i@2, No EPR My...

Re: NightMares, Dreams, Causes, etc.
Dreams occur in REM sleep, so if you were behind in REM, the brain will play Catch Up. It's normal not to remember dreams, so I wouldn't be concerned. Most OTC sleep aids and alcohol will put you in Stage 1&2, but disturb REM. The National Sleep Foundation found that caffeine disturbs sleep up to 22...

Re: Understanding and Interpreting SpO2 Oximetry Reports
Very interesting paper...I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have visited 8 docs and had all kinds of tests and interpretations. Finally one doc mentioned Sleep Apnea. An overnight recording SpO2 is a cheap medical device, but if interpretation is in question, docs will shy away from it. It would be...

Food Allergies and Apnea
I was discussing Food Allergies with my dietician daughter. Allergies can often cause inflammation. It could be the root cause or factor in Sleep Apnea. I was thinking of us running a Pilot Study. An APAP machine user would be ideal for this: Make note of pressure readings needed for 3 days before t...

Re: Understanding and Interpreting SpO2 Oximetry Reports
Is there any info (website?) that shows how bad is bad for SpO2?
I dropped to 79% during the non-treated phase of my sleep study. How bad is that?
I am a Newbie, due to insurance rules, I have to rent a machine for 3 months...now awaiting DME response.

Re: Data Software - Pros & Cons
I've looked over the Respironics, Resmed and Intellipap websites. Very sketchy info on the software. I'll get my Rx and pressure number today from the doc. I still, cannot see which software provides enuf data to watch future apnea and hypoapnea events. Do all of them do that? I would think that eac...
