Re: Is an avegare of 6 AHI good enough?

I have been using the PR One for about 7 months now and my 30 days average AHI always falls between 5 and 7. I am always in awe when I read in this forum that people can achieve AHI in the decimal points range and even 0. Is an average of AHI 6 good enough? or should I aim for a better therapy resu...

Re: RemStar Pro C-FLEX + AIR PRESSURE

I have a RemStar Pro and have noticed that the air pressure sometimes surges. This happens when I stop breathing after a few seconds the machine will ramp up and the pressure increases. Also I know you get use to the the pressure but when I first cut the machine on it almost blows the mask off my f...

Re: Vibratory Snores

If your experiencing sinus congestion and drainage, are you clearing your throat? They could be registering. I know mune does. No, I don't have any noticeable issues with my sinuses when using the humidifier on the PR System One. Someone suggested my humidifier be the cause of my VS's. I tried the ...

Re: Vibratory Snores

Could it be the hose rubbing over the headboard if that's your setup? Do you use a hose cover? No, I have the hose cover and the hose hook hanging from the headboard. I get very little movement of the hose from the hook to the mask. I asked my wife to listen for my snoring during the night, if she ...

Re: Vibratory Snores

You didn't say what your pressure is, but you're probably going to need a bit more. If you're not already, I would also suggest doing nasal cleansing/rinsing before bedtime. These machines interpret airflow and various vibrations can translate to "snores".......in addition to the actual snoring. Al...

Re: Vibratory Snores

Go take a look at the mask leak numbers on your "detailed" report for the periods when you have the high "VS". Is it a nice, smooth "leak" line, or lots of spikes and changes? Let us know what you see. As you mentioned, they are likely mask leaks. Average mask leak 29.0 for a night that indicated a...

Vibratory Snores

I just printed my therapy numbers for my 1st 10 days using the System One REMstar Pro w/C-Flex+ and I have a question about the vibratory snores. It appears that I have an Average VS Index of 207 for the Long Term Trend report. I can't imagine this being actual snores and I was wondering how this nu...

Yeah, I wish I'd known the limitations of the different machines before I bought a copy of EncoreViewer.

Re: Sleep test costs

did these charges include charges for the doc to interpret the test or just for the "lab"? Yes, I assumed that the doctor's charge was the difference between the 1st and the 2nd bill. It's no telling how much it would have cost if the doctor had actually discussed my apnea and therapy with me. I've...

Re: Sleep test costs

This subject comes up frequently and with a wide variety of dollar figures. The amounts you listed are near the upper end of the charges I've seen. In other words, you and your insurance provider got the screws put to you. These were my "Billed" and "Paid" amounts for a split-night study in March o...

Re: Sleep test costs

Yeah. I was really surprised they paid that much. Especially since this sleep lab was out of the insurance network. I pointed this out to the lab and they told me they would accept what the insurance company paid without back billing me for the difference. I used this lab because it was set-up by my...

Sleep test costs

I was just wondering if the charges for my sleep tests were in-line with others. I had one night of monitoring for apnea events at $4100 and one night monitoring events and adjusting pressure at $4400. Doesn't this seems excessive? Although my insurance adjusted the charges down to $3100 and $3400 r...

Re: ReadingSD card

ronster2 - You have the "PLUS" model (at least that is what you show in your profile) and that will only give you compliance data (how often and how long you used it). To get detailed data you would have to upgrade to a "PRO" or an "AUTO" model. If you have not had it very long you MAY be able to g...

Re: ReadingSD card

I tried my Encore Pro 2.2 with my PR System One today and the software reads the SD card just fine and downloads into my profile that I set-up. The therapy data didn't supply much info other than time of day and dates used. I didn't see any snoring, apnea, or anything that would provide me any info ...
