Re: lost weight - do i still need cpap / apap?
You've convinced me! I'm staying on CPAP/APAP until I can get another sleep study. The tech who installed VMWare said it was a lot better than boot camp BUT I'm not so sure. I'll look into running boot camp. It frosts me because I just spent $70 on a VMWare upgrade and $130 having someone install it...

Re: lost weight - do i still need cpap / apap?
I just read about some studies of people with OSA who'd had weight loss surgery and lost a fair amount of week. Almost all of them thought they no longer needed CPAP. After a sleep study, turns out only one of them truly didn't. I think I'll keep using it until I can get a sleep study. Re using an o...

Re: lost weight - do i still need cpap / apap?
Thanks for the input. I can't afford the sleep study right now and I'm hopeless with data. I was originally diagnosed with "mild" sleep apnea but my cardiologist wanted me on cpap anyway because there's a correlation between sleep apnea and atrial fibrillation, which I have. I definitely felt better...

lost weight - do i still need cpap / apap?
I've been using apap for a couple of years now. I've lost more than 100 pounds since it was prescribed. I'm thinkin' maybe I don't need it anymore but can't afford a sleep study right now. My original setting was max 8. After losing weight, I tried setting the pressure to max 5, min 4. I consistentl...

Re: F&P Icon Auto, early review and request for clin. manual
How does it stack up against your S8? I was thinking about getting an S9 then saw the info about the Icon and decided to wait. I'm hoping to see some comparisons.

Re: stomach aches from swallowing air?
Bev, what a pain! I've got a good old stomach again this morning. I wish it would just go through instead of sitting in the middle! You'd think I was a long-distance runner with a stitch in her side. I only wish it were so! I tried the head-down sleeping position. It's going to take some practice as...

H4i arrived. Works perfectly! So cute compared to the DeVilbiss! My thanks to Michelle.

Great food for thought. Thank you. TorontoCPA, it sounds as though we're lucky to have you with us. I'm glad you made it through.

Used S9 Autoset II - to buy or not to buy
I'm thinking about getting a used S9. I don't think the warranty is transferable. What do you think? Dumb move? Good move? I figure it probably won't fail. If it does, it will likely be only the flow generator or the humidifier, not both. I could buy another used one and still not be into it for mor...

Re: stomach aches from swallowing air?
I just watched the YouTube video. Very interesting. Just the opposite of what I'd read before which was to get close to the position you'd use for CPR - which is head back to open the trachea. This is head down to close off the opening to the stomach. I'm definitely going to give it a try tonight. M...

Looking for H4i humidifier to replace DeVilbiss 9200
Hi, I'm looking for an H4i or H3i humidifier to use with my s8 Autoset II. The DeVilbiss is not designed specifically for use with apap, although I think it's working fine. I'd like to get something a little less cumbersome. I've been checking cpapauction the last couple of weeks and haven't seen an...

Re: stomach aches from swallowing air?
Katie, "the pose" I will do in the privacy of my room! Some people say they got better when they went to apap. Like yours, mine is worse than it was on cpap, although that machine was so noisy and miserable, I never made the connection that the variance in pressure could be the culprit in swallowing...
