Coughing a lot
I have been on cpap for a year and I had been doing well on it and feeling good. On Jan. 1 I came down with the flu. I was sick over a week and I am still left with a lot of post nasal drainage and a cough that comes and goes but is not too bad during the day. I just finished a round of Augmentin fo...

Re: My Machine Died
Thank you so much for all the responses!! You all are the greatest!! Well, I did call my DME and left a message. You can never talk to a real person (I hate that). They have to call you back. They did not ever call me back today!! So I came home from work and decided to take a look for bites (dog - ...

My Machine Died
Help! I used my cpap on Monday night and it was fine. When I put it on last night (Tuesday) it had no power. I checked the cord and looked it over completely and it is just without power. The display is not lit. The buttons do nothing. I have checked everything. Nothing happened to it and it has not...

Thanks to many/ encouragement to others
Dear Friends, So many of you have helped me with suggestions and encouragement. I wanted to give an update and maybe some encouragement to those having trouble. At this point, over 8 weeks from starting CPAP, I now sleep with my "buddy" every night, all night. I am sleeping all night most nights now...

Drowning even with a hose cover!!
Rain rain go away!! I have had lots of trouble with rainout in the hose and in the mask. I have a cover that I ordered and put on. It is nice and warm and makes the hose softer. My humidifier level is on 2 and I actually need more as I am still waking with dry mouth and eyes. On the 2 setting I am g...

Re: OT: Ambien side effects!!!
Having insomnia and apnea just make me so tired! I don't know what to do about trying to get some sleep. I took a half of a melatonin last night and was just kind of in and out of sleep. I fought with the mask for 4 hours and finally just took it off. I didn't sleep much the rest of the night even w...

OT: Ambien side effects!!!
My pulmonologist gave me 5 mg Ambien last week to try to help my insomnia and help me get adjusted to the mask/cpap. Well, last night was the 3rd night I took it. When I woke VERY groggy this morning my cpap was turned off and my mask was completely taken apart and laying around by my pillow. I had ...

WANTED: A FFM that doesn't leave a red stripe
I have tried 3 FFM's I like them all but all three leave a big red stripe across the bridge of my nose and make it a little sore. Has anyone found one that doesn't? Or will this stop after I wear it longer? I wore the Ultra Mirage FFM for 2 weeks and it left a big place every morning on my nose that...

Re: second night -- what happened?
I am probably not as qualified to answer as others here but I did become terribly irritable at first. I felt like my whole personality changed. I had a lot of trouble adjusting to the whole process, the mask, the air, etc. I knew it was happening but just felt so grouchy all the time I couldn't help...

Re: first night failure help!!!
Hi, First I will say it will get better. Hang in there and try new things till you get it the way you like it. I had the Swift LT nasal pillows and tried for a month to make them work. they were just not for me. I had a lot of leaks at first. Then after I got the leaks fixed I had terrible sinus pro...

Sleep Apnea and Daylight Savings Time -
Hi, Those of you who have been on CPAP for a while, how did the time changes affect you? I usually have a really hard time adjusting to DST and I am afraid this is going to magnify the problems I already have with CPAP. I have just recently got to the point where I go to bed and sleep some. In the la...

Re: Gotta be an easier way!! H4i humidifier basin
I have only cleaned mine with dish liquid soap and water. I will try the vinegar and water and the polident tablets. I rinse it most every day and wash it with soap at least once a week. It looks clean but ... I will think about investing in the other basin. This is a part of life and it needs to be...
