Re: The short version

I do think the narcolepsy is causing the bigger of the two problems right now with my drowsiness. My apneas are usually below 2, anywhere from like...0.4 to 1.4 or around those numbers. I do take Adderall and it helps some. We have tried several medication combinations but recently I ran out of Nuvi...

Re: The short version

I wasn't diagnosed with the Narcolepsy until 5-6 months after being on cpap. I've had 3 night sleep studies, and 1 daytime sleep study within the past 2 years. I don't know about my limb movements, my husband said I have always moved around a lot, I only noticed them when I was being tested without ...

Re: The short version

I should have added this to my first post at the top..... The reason the surgery was tried on me was in hopes of getting my apneas and cpap pressure down enough so that I could use Xyrem to help the daytime drowsiness. They say it is suppose to put a person into such a deep sleep that they feel most...

Re: The short version

Otter, YES first and foremost I use my auto cpap, as I said in a previous post, my body is addicted to it and I don't know if I could sleep without it now even IF they were to say I did not need it anymore (which I doubt would ever come about.) But also they have tried several medications to help co...

The short version

...of my life story....... I remember napping as a child on my parents bed. I always thought it "haunted" though I'm not sure I believe in that 'stuff." I remember that upon awakening I could not open my eyes or move my body but that I was awake and aware that I was awake. So I thought some "ghost o...

Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy and Surgery

Good morning, Back in 2010 I was diagnosed with Mixed sleep apnea, with 113 apneas (average an hour?) then a few months later after a daytime study diagnosed with narcolepsy. Because my SA is so high I was sent to a surgeon to have some problems in my airway adjusted in March of 2011. After Tonsils,...

Introduction

Hi, I am a newbie to the board and to CPAP. Last night was my second night. So far so good even though I haven't noticed any change in my energy level yet. I have been having a neck ache even before starting the cpap. Its like my neck is sore in the back when I wake up and that causes me a headache...
