Any CPAP auction sites left?

I was thinking about replacing my old Respironics C-flex, and without insurance, the only place I can afford a machine was buying a used one from an auction. I checked cpapauctions.com, and cpap-auctions.com, and both are gone. Anybody know of anyplace (other than craigslist) to buy used cpap machin...

Re: Leak Rate with Swift FX

Another thing to consider is the mask setting on the CPAP. The FX has a higher venting rate than the LT, and as your machine predates the existence of your mask, your selection of "SWIFT" is probably under-estimating your mask vent rate.

Re: encore pro "why" ?

I don't know for certain, but it could be possible that beyond a certain pressure (in this case 16 cm H2O), the method used to determine snoring is unreliable, as the higher pressure could cause vibrations which may be logged as snoring, so they disable that feature.

Re: Issues with insurance not paying for CPAP software

Heck, I'd be happy just to get them to pay for the CPAP. Unfortunately, just about all insurance companies fail to see the software as "necessary" to your therapy. As long as you're in compliance, they're happy, whether or not you're actually receiving any benefit from it or not.

Re: CPAP Auction Question

I've noticed that some people seem to be buying a lot more equipment than they can possibly use. Apparently they seem to bid on almost everything (both new and used), and those that don't exceed a certain price threshold (I'm assuming some percentage of what they think they can resell it for) withou...

Is that 24l/m rate after adjustment for mask venting?

Re: Hose Lift and TSA

I'm not sure what your hose lift looks like, but unless it has a sharp edge or point, and is longer than 4", you shouldn't have any problems. If you do, explain to them that it's part of a medical device. If they still don't go along with you, ask to speak to a supervisor. Many items which were prev...

Re: ResMed Swift FX

I started out using the Medium pillows with the Swift FX, as that was what I'd been using with my Swift LT. Some good nights, some bad, leakwise. I just switched to the large pillows, and while I don't have enough data yet to do a decent comparison, they "feel" like they leak less. Sometimes with th...

Re: I'm Sold On The Swift Fx !

The first night I used my Swift FX, every time I moved, it leaked. After readjusting the fit, it worked fine without leaking, no matter what position I slept in. Of course, your mileage may vary, but if at first it doesn't work for you, adjust!

Re: How do you afford so many masks?

Auctions and Craigslist help. I picked up a brand new Swift FX being auctioned for half what ResMed is forcing everyone to sell it for. My insurance doesn't cover CPAP at all (had to fight with them to pay for my sleep study), so it's definitely do-able. Also check people you know who might also use...

Re: New SWIFT FX--ANYONE using it yet?

An update, seems I've managed to get the fit adjusted properly, didn't notice any leaking last night. Will give it a few more nights, and check the data on the card (stupid machine only lists 7 and 30 day averages, like that does a lot of good...). Checked via Encore Pro, leak last night was 31.82. ...

Re: New SWIFT FX--ANYONE using it yet?

Managed to pick up a Swift FX via auction (insurance doesn't cover CPAP), tried it out last night. Love the mask, but had leakage problems every time I moved. Re-adjusted fit this morning, and it seems much better now. Which comes to my question, does anybody know the vent rate for the Swift FX? I k...

Re: Husband Snores A Lot - but no apneas

Sorry to be a bit OT, but who did he ask for a copy of the summary report, the sleep lab, or your doctor? I've recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea (moderate, managed to get a prescription for a CPAP, pressure of 10), but I've got no idea of what the results of my sleep study actually were. I'd ...
