Yes that's pretty common especially on nights with higher AHI's.

Re: Sore throat....is it possible for CPAP to cause it?
When I had a nasal mask I had a sore throat everytime I used it. Since I switched to a FFM that problem went away.

Re: Can We really go without REM sleep?
When you're depressed phase 3 & 4 sleep usually disappear although you get more but shorter REM episodes.
Of course with OSA you got most of the same results. Add antidepressants to that...

Took me 3 months to get decent sleep but at least I didn't get out of bed 4-5 timed a night. Hang in there.

Agreed, I do get away with less sleep than before. However I do catnap often; as to waking up "bright eyed and bushy tailed", never happened before
or after CPAP...

Get an FFM as a backup, cause you never know how long congestion can last.

Re: 1 month on CPAP and still crave a nap every day
That's the adrenaline kickin because of the apneas. I feel the same way after my nap. Also napping without the mask reminds of when I slept "naturally". Well, i've just reached the 8 month mark on CPAP. 8.5 hours every night, average ahi of 2 and i still crave a nap every arvo as i'm still exhausted...

Re: 1 month on CPAP and still crave a nap every day
When I started cpap I had lots of wake ups ( mask & leak or hose problems, cpap noise etc...) but at least I never left the bed like before (4-5 times a night).
It took me 6 months to get use to it, so hang in there. After 2 years i still nap everyday without the mask for 10-20min .

Re: New to cpap...will throat irritation go away
When I used my F&P 407 & mouth tape, my throat was always sore. Since I switched to the 432 FFM it's much better. Definitely try a FFM if you can.

Re: CPAP causing vertigo symptoms??
The first few months of CPAP I experienced dizziness/vertigo, I felt it was due to the fact that I only slept on my side due to the
mask because before i'd toss & turn all night. Exhaustion didn't help either but it eventually went away as my sleep improved.

Re: Flex Fit 431 Full Mask Issues
I used a 432 & a medium seal, large leaks & nose bridge was way too sore so I switched to large, much better. Downside : had too tighten straps more so more cheek marks, nothings perfect... Making matters worse, the bridge of my nose if very sore and red. I'm very frustrated and searching for answer...

Re: Is it alright to nap without your cpap?
Same for me, a 1/2 hour nap boosts my energy, of course it could be the adrenalin from the apneas... [/quote] I guess I'm one of the oddballs. I nap almost every day in the recliner without the CPAP and feel quite fine. In fact, it refreshes me enough to keep me going until 11, 12, or 1, even. My na...

Same thing happened to me after a year probably after getting my deep sleep back. So I switched to an FFM.
