Re: OT: What does everybody do for a living?
Hotel business for the first 18 years of my career. Then, a day spa owner for 8 years. Now, do books for small businesses from my home office and work as a customer service agent for a major airline. I love the variety of my work and am grateful to have the diagnosis of sleep apnea figured out. Now ...

Re: Mask help for a new side sleeping mouth breathing CPAP user
Pat...consider a humidifier for your cpap machine as well. The humidity helped clear up my congestion and I definitely sleep better with it. Another thing with the full face mask. I can get away with not shaving for a few days and have found that it will seal better on those days if I disconnect and...

Re: Mask help for a new side sleeping mouth breathing CPAP user
I have a goatee and mustache, don't shave every day, so, have stubble most of the time. I use the Mirage Quattro full face mask and am a side sleeper. I have a small, flat pillow that I use on top of my regular pillow(s). I can bunch up the small pillow just right to fit with my mask and am able to ...

Re: what are the signs??
I am six months into treatment and no longer need to take a nap in the afternoon. I have more energy and can get out and exercise/walk for a mile or two most days. I have better memory, feel more alert and have a better attitude about things. I love the extra energy and "wanting" to do things instea...

Re: Of Interest To Cruisers
Jeff, Your post brought a question to my mind and this is something I need to know about. If the machine is unplugged and put away during the day (which is a great idea!), does it remember it's settings so that they are there when you plug it back in? I should know this and assume that the machine d...

Re: CPAP and Air Travel
I was in the Atlanta airport last week and the TSA Agent was instructing folks on what to do, if they have a CPAP machine, during his speech of "take your shoes off, remove belts, etc...etc... I was impressed to hear that they actually knew what the CPAP machine is and that they used it in their spe...

Re: tips for getting rid of red mark on nose bridge
I have healed up my red mark this week by wearing a bandaid with a little anti biotic cream on it during the night. So far, no leaks. I also called Karen at Pad A Cheek yesterday and ordered her nose bridge protector. I look forward to receiving it. During the day, I use a dab of lotion that has lav...

Re: How do you clean your headgear straps?
I washed mine for the first time this weekend. I used woolite and hand washed it in the sink by swishing it around. Rinsed well and then air dried for the day. They did just fine and there were no problems when I used the mask that night.

Can anyone come to this meeting, or, do I have to have their insurance in order to attend? I would be very interested in coming.
Thanks!

Re: Naps
I absolutely love the dreams I have been experiencing since starting cpap! The deep sleep is incredible and I am so grateful that I finally found out what was "wrong" with me. I will occasionally take a little cat nap and have found that putting the mask on helps me to fall asleep quickly. The frequ...

Re: Poll: How Long to Adjust & Start Sleeping Restfully?
I noticed results immediately. Before cpap I had to get up to go to the bathroom 5-6 times a night. The very first night on cpap that all went away I have very vivid dreams now and remember them....that means I am getting some very deep restful sleep. I love my mask...it did take some adjustments at...

Thanks for the input folks! I will try the eye drops and see if that helps. It is allergy season and I have had lots of itching.

Broke a blood vessel
This morning I woke up with a broken blood vessel in my eye. I don't know if I did it from coughing, sneezing, or if my mask was too tight. Has anyone else ever broken a blood vessel as a result of their mask?
