Re: General anaesthetic & Apnea
I'm reviving this thread because I am scared witless. I completely destroyed my knee (argh) and now require surgery. I understand that I may be able to request an epidural and not general anesthetic. I am scared of both outcomes -- I don't want to be awake for this operation, nor do I want to have ...

Re: Poll: Do you use blower to dry out everything?
I never run the blower unless I'm wearing the mask at night. It screws up my usage data and sets off an annoying air leak alarm.

Glad you got it working. I'm curious why you had older drivers. Are you using autoscan 5.7? Are your updated drivers the ones from the ACS website? If you plan to keep detailed sleep data over time, you might want to set a reminder somewhere to download your data at least every 5 days (the cpap inte...

Re: autoscan 5.7 & acr38 reader
just got my acr38 reader today to use with autoscan 5.7, but I'm not having any luck. Anybody out there able to help me? Maybe I'm using the wrong drivers? Thy're from acs thanks, Jim If I remember correctly, I didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary. Where exactly do you run into problems? ...

Biggest problem I see with MAC is if there is a driver for the card reader. I have a MAC OSX 10.3 to test on as well as the usual Windows machines so would be willing to give it a try if we go ahead. Try the Mac drivers here: http://www.acs.com.hk/acr38_driversmanual.asp The biggest hurdle I can se...

I haven't even started looking for a card reader for my Resmed S8 Vantage autoset, but when I do , what do you need to read those funny looking cards? Assuming it uses the same data card as the S8 Elite, the data cards are just smart cards cut down to size. You typically need a ResMed brand card re...

To those who have requested a copy already. Pls can you add a post saying if it worked or not, else, PM me with your results. Tks D The patch worked great for me on AutoScan 5.7. I placed it in the root of my C: drive, and now it only checks the floppy once when I start the app. I dragged it into t...

I have the the Vantage also and software but cannot get the Detailed Report to show anything more than flat lines. Is this not available with this system? Alphabettie It doesn't look like it. I think the Detailed Data has to come from the ResLink add-on device, which isn't compatable with all of th...

I have terrible allergies, and sinus congestion was making it very difficult to use my CPAP. After discussing with my doctor, he prescribed a corticosteroid nasal spray (flonase) before bed and recommended I try a sinus rinse (I found this one at my pharmacy). The sinus rinse was a bit strange at fi...

Update
I bought an ACR38 card reader here for $30 and it works with AutoScan. I didn't even have to install any drivers. I just plugged it in, fired up AutoScan, and it read the data from the card. To line up the small ResMed data card properly, I cut off a strip from an old expired credit card and used it...

I'm sure they will not. These companies have their own proprietary software and cards and want to make sure that they "gotcha" when it comes to buying the pieces and parts. Den But lots of people here buy them to use with Encore Pro and other software. Do you know for sure that they won't work with...

The card format that ResMed uses is not a common one. I don't know of any place other than a ResMed CPAP retailer to get either the cards or the reader. So it would appear the only option is 65 bucks, period. By far the least expensive part of the whole system when you account for the CPAP machine,...
