Re: Bad Dry Mouth with taping

Just curious - why did you raise your pressure to 15? Doing so of course would cause leakage somewhere, if only microscopically, never mind that you remove the tape anyway. If you raised it because you were trying to counteract leaks, you likely created new ones because of the higher pressure (and ...

Bad Dry Mouth with taping

Well the title says it all. After uping my pressure to 15 it seems to force air out my lips after I fall asleep. So after trying the chin strap and sweat band over the lips. I have started taping. Problem is I wake up about 3am with bad dry mouth, and have to remove the tape... I did get my best lea...

does rainout end your night?

Well for me it does... I either remove the mask and sleep without it or, after the "waterboarding" I'm up for the night. As my pressure has gone up I have had to raise my humidifier level to keep from getting the dry mouth. But it seems all to often I get rain out. after getting up and drying everyt...

Re: What experiments have you tried?

Hi BlackSpinner, Yes, I have my machine set to the right humidifier and also the right mask. Do you Gilley? My pressure is 8.0. I do have lots more leak problems with pressures any higher than that. Yes I have the right Humidifier and mask setting and I'm getting use to my new pressure at 15. I'm j...

Re: What experiments have you tried?

This is a very interesting post. I to struggle with a hight leak rate and dont think its the mask. I also feel I have solved my mouth leaks with a sweat band and chin strap. I never suspected the humidifier.....Are you taping the seam where the lid closes? Maybe a pic if you have one. Also what is y...

my answer to mouth breathing

Well, after adjusing my pressure up to 13 trying to get my AHI under 5 I have real trouble with mouth breathing. I struggled to make the full face mask work. Taping is not an option, so I went through Restedgal's list of links and found my answer. On one of her links I saw someone posted about using...

Re: Need help choosing a "Full face" Mask

When you go to your DME to try the masks, Try them on Laying down with your full pressure. Take your machine if you need to. There is a big adjustment in the fitting from sitting up and laying down. My mask fit fine sitting in the chair in the office but when I tried it at home laying down it was a ...

Re: Full face mask with pressure 13 or more

Thanks to those who replied. I think I got a good fitting with the medium. I have gotten in the habit of washing and shaving before bed to get a good seal. I will keep working with it. But I went back to the nasal LT mask after fighting for 45 minutes with the FF and slept good. I also notice the FF...

New Pressure! New Mask!

Had my first month review. AHI was about 8.7 for the average. Mask Nasal LT had some high leak numbers. My pressure got pushed up from 11 to 13 and I got the Mirage Quattro Full Face Mask. (med) I tried it laying down at home with the new pressure and I couldnt keep it on my face! I mean @ a pressur...

Re: Is my leak rate killing my therapy?

For a ResMed cpap, the upper limit for leaks is 24 liters/minute. Going just by your numbers, yours seem to to exceed that. But how do your graphs look? If the leaks are continuous during the night, then you definitely need to fix that. But, if for example, you take off your mask without turning of...
