Re: Long Time Trilogy User

Hi Ozij! I remember you as well. So nice of you to say hello. I suspect I won't get much information but that's okay. One of my "concerns" is my current RT (who I really like) seems determined to NOT use AVAPS on the V Home. She claims nobody is using AVAPS anymore and wants to use Pressure Support....

Long Time Trilogy User

Hello everyone. Some of you know me. Most probably do not. To those that know/remember me, hello. I have a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy and am power wheelchair bound. My nighttime breathing is not good due to my disease, compounded by sleep apnea. I had many sleep studies and was given CPAP ...

Re: Best way to maintain Full Face Mask Cushion? Cleaning Routine

I wipe my mask & cushion every morning with a baby wipe (no rinsing). Each night, I use a wet cleansing cloth (brand varies) to "wash" my face. Once a month, I do a deep cleaning of my mask using either baby shampoo or Dawn Direct Foam. My mask cushion lasts anywhere from 9-12 months.

Hi Metsfan! So good to see you.

I would like to highly recommend these hose covers. I have 3 of them and LOVE them. I cannot stand the cold hose hitting me and these covers work perfectly. Plus, they wash and dry like a dream!!

Pugsy - If you need a proofreader and/or spell checker, I volunteer! I've always been a good speller. People I used to work with called me a "walking dictionary."

Re: Why the hell would I use a humidifier.

I went from CPAP (with humidification) to BIPAP (with humidification) to the Trilogy WITHOUT humidification. The air was so dry that I pretty much gagged through the night on it. Got a stand-alone humidifier to use with the Trilogy and have been comfortable ever since.

Re: Anyone else waking up constantly throughout the night?

I can usually fall asleep relatively easy enough, but the awakenings are the huge problem. I will be starting no caffeine tomorrow though and report back through my 30 day journey. I gave up caffeine years ago. Going cold turkey almost killed me (not literally, but figuratively). I started over and...

Re: Anyone else waking up constantly throughout the night?

As someone who drinks both coffee and wine, I'll share my experience/opinion on the subject. Coffee: I drink 4-8oz cups of regular coffee daily. My 4th cup is no later than 2pm. Any coffee after that is decaf and I have a cup of decaf 4-5 nights after dinner. If I have coffee out and end up with reg...

Re: Getting Started and Startling the Doc

I was reading this with my early morning coffee and just smiled. I love seeing this kind of thing. I am so impressed with how you handled that doctor! You knew what you were talking about, knew what you needed and made it clear, politely I might add, that you wouldn't settle for anything less. Kudos...

Re: OT -- perhaps

One of my all time favorite doctors was a DO. Her practice and methodology worked very well for me, and I felt she gave me exceptional care. If I hadn't moved 200 miles away, I'd still be with her.
