Re: I'm Out
I was a mouth breather all my life. Snored like a walrus. Was convinced I needed a full face mask or hybrid so i could breathe through my mouth, but they both made my mouth feel very dry and were covering too much of my face to be comfortable. So I tried the Swift FX, and lo and behold, with this ma...

Re: Reminder: Sleep Apnea Not Limited to Obese Patients
After a thorough neuro exam and exam of my "oral, nasal, throat" structures, in addition to the sleep study, I was told I could diet myself down to 80 lbs and would still have my sleep disorder. I have a big tongue and a small air passage. My BMI is normal. I have probably had this problem for decad...

Re: My cholestrol has gone through the roof
Lots of red yeast rice formulations have been tested and the actual level of active "stuff" has been found to be lacking in much of it. None of that stuff is certified or regulated in any way. FDA doesn't test it. Who does? You have no idea what is or is not in it. I can find the articles about that...

Re: My cholestrol has gone through the roof
Maybe I missed it, but did you post your weight?
Too much salt is not messing with your lipids but it can make your heart work harder and it has a lot of other negative effects.

Re: My cholestrol has gone through the roof
I'm not arguing "low carb" diet etc.
"Conventional" approach has worked pretty well for me.

Re: My cholestrol has gone through the roof
Also, what is your blood pressure?
Do you have an idea how much salt you eat? (do you eat lots of prepared foods, restaurant foods, canned foods, etc.)?

Re: My cholestrol has gone through the roof
With a family history LDL should be under 70.
Total cholesterol of 150 is optimal.

Alcohol can raise the tris for sure.
I don't want to be nosy (well maybe I do), but are there other lifestyle factors you could modify? My intent is to be supportive and not judgmental.

Re: Consistent AHI
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I think I am seeing "activity" and "behavioral" improvement. One night with the snow storms recently we were having power fluctuations so I didn't use the machine (for that one night) and I woke up the next day feeling like I was suffocating (and my apnea is mi...

Consistent AHI
Hi everyone! On the Swift FX I have been having a consistent AHI day after day of 2.1 (two weeks now) with 0 leaks and 7 hours on the hose per night. No snoring. Mouth is staying closed. I am thinking I should be very happy with this. My sleep study indicated very few actual apneas, so although I ca...
