Yes, I can take the M Series. However, new insurance is monitoring my usage with the AirSense.

Thanks

Battery Geek C-222

Hello All, I have been using my Battery Geek C-222 with my Respironics REMstar Plus M Series without humidification for weekend camping trips since 2008 with no problems. I have not been camping in approximately 2 years, but I went this weekend. I used my AirSense 10 for this trip. My battery only l...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

Thanks Carbonman! The Scouts and I had a great time. It was the trip of a lifetime and a life changing experience. To quote the Philmont Movie Documentary, ( http://www.vimeo.com/20630196 ) “The challenges taken on a Philmont Trek pales in comparison to the difficulty in explaining it to those that ...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

Well I survived. Had a great trip with no major problems. Covered about 75 miles. Hiked to Baldly Mountain and Back. Elevation 12,441'. Its the brown mountain top just to the right of my pack in the picture.

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

Hello Everyone! Just checking back in. Here is the status of my Trek. Philmont has approved my plan to carry a battery and solar panel. Logistics can arrange battery drops with food drops, however they are not set up to track return deliveries. So I am not going with the spare battery option. The Tr...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

As I mentioned before I was in contact with Respironics and as confirmed by the article BillBolton posted the CPAP machine can be adjusted for the higher altidudes. Respironics would not tell me what I needed to do, but will instruct my DME. The DME is not randomly adjusting the pressure. On another...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

Bill Thanks for the article, it was helpful. I spoke with my DME and it looks like we are going to be able adjust my machine to compensate for the higher alivations by increasing my pressure. The problem now is my battery life will be shorter. Unlike the gentleman in the article I will not have 51 p...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

"Since I can easliy get 3-4 days" are you sure about that? I assumed you would get barely one day out of a battery charge, and have to recharge it again the next day. I am positive about it. I have done it on more than one occasion. Keep in mind I am not using the humidifier and I am only sleeping ...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

There are people here with a lot more knowledge of Solar Panels than I have. To clarify I was planning on using Battery Geek's SOLAR CPAP BATTERY SYSTEM. This new military grade paper-thin solar panel charger recharges the C-222 from a complete discharge in approximately 8 hours. Folded up this sola...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

[I would second the suggestion that you contact cpap.com and a Respironics engineer to get a reliable answer to your question about altitude affecting your cpap's functioning properly. I very much hope that you will post the results of your research! I have contacted CPAP.com and most units are onl...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

Thanks everyone for the information. I am starting to question the wisdom in attempting this trip.

Greyhound how did you power your device?

Re: CPAP travel and batteries

All I can tell you is what I experienced. My first time using it at summer camp I wanted to see how long it would last. I arrived Sunday and the battery died halfway through Thursday night. Now when I camp for a week I charge Wednesday morning. Keep in mind I was only sleeping between 6 & 7 hours a ...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes

My pressure is 11. I'm not sure what you mean by diagnosis. My sleep examine was a little over 2 years ago. I had 80 apneas or near apneas per hour. Since then I have been sleeping with my CPAP every night. Anything else you need to know?

Hiking at High Altidudes

Hi All! I am new to these forums. I am planning on taking a 12 day hiking trip summer of 2011. I am making arrangements for a solar panel to recharge my battery. I have a REMStar Plus M Series and the highest altitude adjustment is 5001 - 7500 FT. However, I will be sleeping at altidudes which could...

Re: CPAP travel and batteries

I use battery geek C-222. I take it camping on average once a month. Battery lasts me 4 nights. I only have to charge once on a week on summer camp trip. Battery works great, however the charge level meter is not accurate.

**Edit** I don't use the humidifier with the battery.
