Re: Cushion vs. nasal pillow
I use the mirage swift LT for her nasal pillows and my pressure is also at 10.0 I wear reading glasses using the pillows & sleep on my side. If you can adjust to the pillows you will find they are must less invasive on the face than other masks. I can't imagine switching to anything else.

Re: new to cpap, help!!
Welcome to the world of Sleep Apnea. I have only been a CPAP user for 2.5 months & I am already feeling the results. I have to admit the first couple of weeks were pure misery. Unable to fall asleep, waking up to strange noises from the machine, hating that thing on my face, etc. It turned out I was...

Re: frustrations getting started
My thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I read at night (tv doesn't help me relax but reading does) for 45 minutes - 1 hour with the pillows/CPAP on so I have been trying to become accustomed to it before turning the lights out. Tonight I will add the relaxation CD & see if that helps. Thanks ...

Re: frustrations getting started
The "settling" starts at 6 & goes up to 10.5. This is preset by the technician & I can't change it. After a few minutes I try to adjust myself and calm down my breathing but the whole idea of having something that close to my face is driving me nuts.

frustrations getting started
I am new at this and have only been using my CPAP for 9 days but so far it has been a very frustrating experience. I have always had trouble falling asleep and using a CPAP is not helping. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea & it seems to run in the family. I am using a ResMed S8 AutoSet II with the Sw...
