Is My Over-Bite My Problem with Mask Fitting?
I'm still trying to find a mask that fits after 7months, and four masks. I got a Mirage Liberty, yesterday, which I'm hoping will work but right off the bat I have problems stopping leaks. It has occurred to me that perhaps the reason I'm having leaks is my over-bite. I haven't read any comments reg...

Re: Elite II settings
Thanks for the info on the Resmed Auto Set. . . sounds like terrific advice. I think my Quattro may be too small. I fall on the cusp between small and medium size mask. I ordered my "small" mask on line. Now, I'm convinced I should be using a medium. I guess I should have stayed with a DME, and paid...

Re: Elite II settings
Thanks for your thoughts. I recorded my stats religiously for several months, posting some here, though I didn't put them in a spread sheet which is a good idea. I'll start recording them on a spread sheet and see what the trend is. I know guessing pressure settings is a shot in the dark, but I'm re...

Re: Elite II settings
Short Answer: 1. I want a good night's sleep. 2. I have several apnea episodes each night plus restless legs (medicated) 3. The pressure was changed, I think, because I couldn't get a seal on my mask. The long answer: I'm trying to get a good night's sleep which I haven't had for years. My sleep stu...

Elite II settings
What trail adjustments should I be making? The doc started me at a pressure of 12, then moved it down to 8. I have have an appointment near the end of August. In the mean time I want to experiment with other pressures. Should I go incrementally up or down? I've been using my ResMed, Elite II, for 6 ...

Re: I'm scared and disgusted
I feel your pain. It took me the better part of two months to get a full night's sleep. I'm also a mouth breather and tried a full face mask but couldn't get it sealed no matter how hard I tried. I've settled on the Swift LT and tape my mouth. Tapping my mouth was not a pleasant thought and the firs...

Re: Prescriptions to buy mask on cpapaution
Thanks for all your answers. I made an assumption that a prescription is required because there is reference to prescriptions on the site registration forum.

Prescriptions to buy mask on cpapaution
I want to buy a cpap mask on cpapauction.com. Apparently a prescription is required to make a purchase. This is probably a dumb question but what's the best way to obtain a prescription: from my doctor, cpap supplier or can cpapauction or cpap.com obtain the prescription?

Re: Help Interpreting CPAP Data
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to keep taping my mouth until I can get a FFMEither get yourself a FFM or keep taping your mouth shut with your nasal mask. Large leaks prevent us from getting effective therapy, so you have to fix that before you worry about other things.

Re: Help Interpreting CPAP Data
Big break thru for me. I slept the night through except for getting up twice for bathroom visits. I took one Benedryl generic capsule an hour before going to bed. The sleep doc lowered the pressure on my CPAP from 12 to 8. He told me to not tape my mouth and to not be concered about mouth breathing....

Re: Help Interpreting CPAP Data
I take two AD's, one, twice a day. I stopped taking the afternoon one for several days but that had no effect on my CPAP sleep experience. I haven't tried decaf for sometime. That's a good suggestion; I'll give it a try or just give up coffee, a least for now. Last night was another bad night. The l...

Re: Can I avoid local DMEs and go online?
rayt435. . . it's somewhat comforting to know that I'm not the only one taken by this scam. It's too bad that the sleep centers/doctors aren't required to alert their patients to these Buy-Beware situations. You would think the insurance companies would police this business. They're making money som...

Re: Can I avoid local DMEs and go online?
This is a "feel sorry for me" rant. Oh, how I wish I had done my research before committing to my DME contract. I followed my sleep center recommendations which I believe simply extended the cash-cow line, but what else can a know-nothing person do. I did contact my insurance company before taking t...

Oops, I dropped of the last digits of the link. Sorry. Try it again. http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Prevent-Mouth-Breathing-and-Its-Devastating-Effects-During-the-Night&id=2511416 Taping my mouth, last night, worked great, but still, I didn't get a good night's sleep. I took no sleep aid and haven...
