socknitster,
check the report page on the encore pro software. there should be a a little blue squiggly icon next to the number of hours you slept that night. click on that and the waveform breathing report should come out.

Re: UARS just really bad snoring? Huh? Spontaneous Arousals
goodness....the holy grail we seek. i have this wonderful ailment, UARS myself. i think dr. park described it well when he said that our central nervous systems are basically oversensitive. when our brain senses that our airway is about to begin narrowing, we arouse. people with apnea are the opposi...

first off, i am certainly not a doctor. that being said, start off at a pressure of 7. take daily notes on how you feel at that pressure for an extended time. slowly raise the pressure until you begin to feel improvement. is the s7 data capable? it would be worth the investment to get a data capable...

Re: Interpretation-periodic breathing and CA events
sws, here is a description i posted a while back of my clear airway apneas (not centrals). i think what you are experiencing with your central apneas is something i have also encountered. central apneas often occur after an EEG arousal for someone with UARS. that is because when we are unconscious, ...

Re: Interpretation-periodic breathing and CA events
you really need to either get another sleep study, or get the software that will show your waveform results. until then we are all just speculating. your leak rates are highish. at a ppressure of 10, my leak rate is about 24. i use a chin strap and tape. i recommend you do the same. or at least give...

Re: Interpretation-periodic breathing and CA events
on your pr system 1 report there should be a little blue icon with a squiggly line next to the number of hours you slept that night. click on that. if you haven't seen this you will be blown away at the info you have been missing. in order to get this info, you have to download your night everyday, ...

Re: Interpretation-periodic breathing and CA events
if you can post a portion of your waveform report, that could be helpful. did your sleep doctor mention that you may have a touch of upper airway resistance? on my pr system 1 reports my hypopneas tend to turn to centrals as i raise the pressure, however they are not really centrals. the machine jus...

Re: New to apnea, have chronic fatigue, hypersomnia. Questions
During your sleep study, they were able to differentiate between obstructive and central apneas because they were looking at multiple factors, including brain waves and respiratory efforts. Now, we do have one fairly new forum member who has developed centrals in response to a pressure of 7, but mo...

i have also experienced this and have long been puzzled by it. for me, i think what happens is cpap pressure fills my stomach with air and the pressure in my stomach pushes stomach fluid into my esophagus. i take acifex for gerd so i don't always feel a burn. sometimes when i wake up in the night sh...

Re: central apneas at end of decrese flow wave ?
The 'advanced therapy' is a machine called a 'adaptive servo ventilator'. This machine measures your breath volume on a breath-by breath basis. If you fall below your four minute moving breath volume average, the machine will raise your inhale pressure, perhaps quite aggressively, and do it in a man...

Re: central apneas at end of decrese flow wave ?
"i see frequent central apneas ( duration ranges from 20 to 30 second) only at the termination of decrese flow wave." i'm not sure what you mean by this statement. however, our sleep study results are virtually identical. you will find it difficult to find people with UARS on this site as they are m...
