Re: Poll: Type of Mask(s)

My DME gave me a Comfort Classic 6 years ago. I hated it, but had no idea there were any choices. Once I discovered that there were options, I bought a Breeze Sleepgear. I never see anyone mention these so I must be in the minority, but I really love it. It doesn't work for small heads, but for my l...

Re: Dual humidifiers!

This is a pretty interesting (& timely for me) post. I just got a PR System One and even at 5, which is the max, I don't get enough humidity (this may not always be true, I've only used it one night, but....). So, just this morning I was thinking about using my HC150 as you have done. After reading ...

Re: PR system one Respironics

...When I use these machines, in the quiet of the night they all emit a little siren-like sound reminiscent of a dentist's drill as I breathe. ... My 90 percent is about 17, and the machine often wakes me at higher pressures. I preferred the older models which mostly emitted a steady, moderate whir...

Re: Pros & Cons of Auto BiPAP (vs regular BiPAP)

Well, I ended up buying the PR System One Auto BiPAP. The biggest downsides to it, vs the Sandman Duo, were price and lack of consumer software. I've figured out that the software can be worked around, and my share of the price difference isn't that great. I've always been a big fan of having option...

Re: Pros & Cons of Auto BiPAP (vs regular BiPAP)

The main thing is to have data so you can balance comfort with efficacy. Like John said, make sure your doc doesn't have a problem with your running in auto mode. And if you get one, you will want to double-check how the RT sets it up. ResMed and Respironics autobilevels have to be set up according...

Pros & Cons of Auto BiPAP (vs regular BiPAP)

I have been using a regular BiPAP (Respironics BiPAP Pro @ 12/8) for 6.5 years and it is finally starting to sound shaky . SO, I am looking at new BiPap machines (and I have to buy this year, for insurance purposes). After much research here, reading reviews at CPAP.com and other forums, I think the...
