Re: Need Help On What To Try Next
Unless you have a good reason not to, I would like to see you try running the machine in it's auto mode. Your pressure of 6 is low by most standards. Anytime the flow limitation curve increases it's generally an indication that the machine sees a reduction in flow and it would normally respond if al...

Re: Need Help On What To Try Next
Can you please post your detailed graphs over 1 night showing
Leak, Flow Limitation, Pressure, and Events.
The behavior of the Flow Limitation graph in relation to the others will give a good indication about your pressure settings.
A pressure of 6 is fairly low.

Re: Resmed S9 Elite vs. Autoset
I agree with what the others have said, but its really dependent on the individual case. For me, my pressure is set at 8 - 15, if I'm on my back I need about 13 to 14 which is probably what I would have to set if using fixed pressure, but as I always use auto and normally sleep on my front my pressu...

Re: Get AHI down
Re your pressures. The green pressure line is the inhalation pressure and the pressure that's normally quoted. The blue line exhalation pressure which is the set pressure less EPR which in you case is set to 3. I suspect you minimum pressure is actually set to 9, not 10. You could try increasing the...

Those results aren't that uncommon, but please come and join the rest of us with a hose.
An SpO2 of 72% isn't good, and the ahi indicates a lot of arousal's disrupting you sleep.
Please make sure you get a data capable machine, preferably an autoset.

Re: Stomach sleeper needs HELP
I'm a stomach sleeper as well, and I believe it's all really a question of hose management and the correct pillow. My hose goes back over my head using a head band and velcro to a hose hanger. I sleep with my head on the pillow with the mask just on the edge. For me it works very well, and I toss an...

Re: Aussie Newbie Intro
Hi and welcome. There are a few Aussie about. I'm in Tassie, I guess that counts (It's a small island state that's often left off the map for those non Australian's). My only real comment at this stage is to second those above and try and get a data capable machine, and preferably one with automatic...

Re: Can someone tell me if I should increase my pressure?
Download your data and look at the pressure and flow limitation curves. In general the pressure shouldn't flat line at the maximum pressure. If it is flat lining and the flow limitation curve increases significantly at the same time you should then probably increase the pressure. I personally leave ...

Re: Help: mask for sidesleeper with face in pillow
I don't have a problem with my Swift Fx, but I do use a fairly square sided pillow and hang my nose over the edge.
Strangely though I'm having more problems with my new pillows compared to the old ones that I finally pensioned off after 1 1/2 years.

Re: Covering the mask vent
I've been using this air conditioner filter foam for about 20 months (Not true, I made a new one about 6 months ago), it's extremely porous and I don't think it reduces the air flow at all, but it does completely diffuse the air blast. As Resmed machines only report the ventilation and leak rates I ...

It probably has the same effect as boiling.
As its an odd shape I'd be careful to make sure all the detergent has been washed out.
Hopefully some others can try and post the results.

Boiling pillows is a way to resurrect pillows that don't work as well as they used to and would otherwise be discarded.

1 teaspoon seems to be ample in a small saucepanWrathwielder wrote:Hiya!
BTW, how much baking soda should I add when I boil the pillows? (figure I'd use a small pan like you'd boil hot dogs in...)

Re: How often do you replace nasal pillows on your mask?
I've finally changed my Swift FX pillows after 18 months and multiple boilings. The old ones started to get a bit distorted. I think 30 minutes boiling is more than required, not that it appears to do any harm. My last boil was 20 minutes of gentle boiling, and then plunge into cold water. Without b...
