Re: Pressure is Better

Well after a couple weeks of sleeping with the CPAP, I'm beginning to feel rested (at last). Finally settled on a pressure of 10 which has worked consistently well over the last week. Also, I stopped drinking alcohol which has helped me sleep better as well. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you w...

Re: Pressure is Better

So far so good. I was getting really frustrated that I had to go see my doc (at $150+ per visit) every time I needed an adjustment. I did try 10 but that felt like way too much so bumped it back to 9. Am really interested to see how I feel after a few nights of sleeping well. Have been suffering frm...

Pressure is Better

Thanks for all the advice. I posted earlier this week that I was having trouble breathing with the CPAP. So using info from this site, I "hacked in" to my machine last night and increased the pressure from 6 to 9. What a huge difference! I slept for about 4 hours total with the CPAP on (2 hours more...

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

Dori C,
My machine looks different. I think it's just a Remstar Pro C-Flex. But.... I think you're right about the pressure. see my next post regarding pressure.

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

Ok. Now my question is this: should my breathing be more restricted when I have the CPAP on? Or should it feel like when I'm just breathing normal (without the CPAP). Now that I'm paying more attention to it, it feels like I have a cloth over my mouth/nose and not getting enough air both inhaling an...

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

Yes when I joined yesterday, I listed the wrong machine (an auto) in my profile. I updated it today.

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

Wow! Thanks for all the responses. It's definitely EXhaling where I'm having difficulty. So after reading these posts, I remembered that my machine had a C-flex option and tried that out last night (set at 3). It was better and I kept the CPAP on for about 3 hours but I still felt like i was having ...

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

The pressure is a 6. I've tried the ramp a couple times but it feels like it's harder to breath with less pressure (as it's ramping up). The problem is when i exhale (or try to).

Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP

I need some advice on adapting to CPAP. I'm a new CPAP user and am really having trouble getting used to it. I start out with the mask on but then after a few hours, I wake up feeling like I'm not getting enough air. So I end up taking off the mask and TRY to go back sleep - but am not always succes...
