Re: What does Untreated Sleep Apnea do to you?

Undiagnosed sleep apnea is one of the major contributors to various ailments and is often never diagnosed... the other ailments eclipse the sleep apnea issues. Diagnosed and ignored sleep apnea is also one of the largest contributors to other medical issues and the scientific community is only touc...

Re: pap cap

I also found that chinstraps don't work. I have the papcap, the design is great but it has a flaw for big heads or maybe sensible heads. If I set papcap well, to prevent me to open the mouth, I won't be able to sleep because pain caused by the chinstrap or if I leave it just snug then I am able to o...

Re: Post your favorite mask

Opus 360 nasal pillow,
Resmed Softgel nasal (favorite in the sense that does not like like others)
Full face (waiting for next generation, maybe it won't never happen. Mask companies make enough money with current design that they won't bother improve it.)

Re: Sleep test costs

I just watched in CNN that you should show around for health care. Different hospitals, clinics charge different. I had my first sleep study to see if I had sleep apnea in Houston, TX and price was around 2,500. My second test to find the pressure was done in Denver, Co and the price was only 950.00...

Re: Can't get out of bed

I have an overnight sleep study next week, it has been arranged to try and find out why I still feel so crap in the morning. I get loads of sleep and feel so much more alert in general, it's just that it can take me up to two hours to actually get out of bed. I just lay there in a half doze. Its be...

Re: What does Untreated Sleep Apnea do to you?

I am not the best writing in forums because my mind keep jumping from one idea to the next. So, sometimes the post is not clear. I have posted before that modern medicine is not curing anything, just simple treating symptoms, this time I will try to do it better These posts are a good example about ...

Re: What does Untreated Sleep Apnea do to you?

What does Untreated Sleep Apnea do to you? 2. Internal organ self-repair that normally occurs during certain stages of sleep, does not occur due to continued interruption of your sleep cycle. The problem with cpap treatment is that I cannot have 8 hour of continuous sleep with the mask. I have been...

The things is we are charged 2500.00 if we don't have insurance. Insurance does not pay that amount.

They want to know "You" the insured are the one who is getting the supply and you are not buying it from somebody else using your insurance.

Re: Comfort Gel Full Face

Wow.....I have really wanted to try just a nasal mask, or just nasal pillows like the Activa or the Swift, but with my high pressures I wasn't sure if it was possible. My pressures are 17/12 and I thought that those masks wouldn't work for me. The ResMed SoftGel Nasal that I've been using is rated ...

Re: Comfort Gel Full Face

I had some success from un-Comfort Gel FF. The problem is like you said you have to keep it not tight nor loose, then the silicone sticks to your face. That is my problem, I have an oily face and the edge of the silicone keeping the seal burned my face leaving a mark in my face. The mask was not tig...

Re: no evidence saturated fat leads to heart disease

The problem with all this is "people" follow what modern medicine is dictating. If you notice modern medicine has not cure illnesses recently, it has created new fake ones. Every time I see in TV, newspaper or wherever something like xxxxx disease you must take this pill. I know if big pharma making...

Re: Power outage when asleep

Something similar happen to me but I woke up. You have to make a big effort to breath in when the machine is off, that wakes me up. Try to make a dry run. Put the mask on, hose attached to mask and machine. Don't start the machine and try to breath normally. You will see that you will have to make a...

Re: CPAP, sinuses, and sneezes

The trick is to keep your sinus moist all the time. If the place where you are is humid, not much problem but if it is dry then you have to keep it moist. In my opinion netti pot is not enough to moist your sinus in winter and dry weather. You need a mechanical medium to have moisture in your sinus ...

Re: Help! Sneezing like mad from nasal dryness

In my case the humidity from the machine should be down or up with an inverse relationship where I am. When I am in Denver, Dry and cold then I set to 4 or 5, when I am in Houston, tX then my set is 2-3. I have so man problems with sinus all my life, but when I started CPAP 3 months ago, it was unbe...
