Re: Neti Pot

I have the most horrible sinus problems you can imagine. I found the trick with cpap treatment and sinus is to keep your sinus moist all the time. Not just at bed time. I use ocean spray, the generic brand made from walgreens it is not the same. I use it as often as I need it during the day to keep ...

That's excellent news. You will see how difference it makes having the hormones under control and sleep apnea.

Re: Price Fixing Bill in Congress

The reality is the free market has stopped working long time ago. What will happen is the other companies will follow and we customer we have to pay the price. See airlines going up, the other follows. It is really seldom see them reverting to previous prices. This companies have a big influence in ...

Re: Ughhh Cold starting

I am one of the lucky ones that can use Afrin without rebound effect. That is my weapon for cold congestion.

Full face mask don't work for me, it is impossible to stop the leaks. I also had good success with Ocean spray and increasing the humidity level.

Re: Cpap and Acid Reflux

It took me about 3 months on CPAP for the GERD to improve to the point to stop anti acid medicine. I can eat more spices, and does not bother me. Sugar intake is the one that triggers heartburn during the day, but I have to over indulge.

Re: Aha! I was right about Hypothyroid and Sleep Apnea

I am trying to have a test in my house. No offense to technicians in this forum, but the 2 I had the experience to deal with, they were not the best. The first time to diagnose sleep Apnea he was the best of the two, but he was chatty with the other patient, the room didn't have any insulation betwe...

Re: Aha! I was right about Hypothyroid and Sleep Apnea

I take your advise and also I have thought about it. The thing is the firsts weeks I had a higher AHI and I always being compliant. This is the graph from the first weeks. I had one night big leaks because the Ultra Mirage full face. I stopped using it that night. If I know correctly more pressure w...

Re: Aha! I was right about Hypothyroid and Sleep Apnea

I was diagnosed with severe Osa. With an index close to 50 obstructions per hour. The first night at 16 I had my AHI around 12.0 I think is because my thyroid is under care this time my body is not having apneas. Wow that's great. So what were the tests that you had? Reading the article you linked ...

Re: Aha! I was right about Hypothyroid and Sleep Apnea

I have both of course, but I think the hypothyroid is causing the OSA Is that your premise or is there actual science behind hypothyroidism being a cause and/or major factor behind OSA? Wouldn't your sleep doctor, or endocrinologist be the one(s) to consult, and as soon as possible....I recall disc...

Re: Aha! I was right about Hypothyroid and Sleep Apnea

You may have both. Just get tested again when your TSH is above 2. I have both of course, but I think the hypothyroid is causing the OSA. See this. My initial pressure was 16 and my AHI 0.4~1. I started reducing the pressure one by one, and every time my body adjusted back to AHI 04.~1.0. This week...
