Please tell me about the gel decals; I can't find the thread.SaltLakeJan wrote:I'm going to head to the Dollar Store this afternoon. Hope they have some scarves you described and the gel decals that were suggested on another thread to protect noses when using ff masks. Great idea and creatitive thinking.

Re: Sweet Smell after taking mask off?
I notice a smell also, rather like freshly ironed laundry. When I had my sleep study last week I asked the techs about it and they had never heard of it. They thought it might be the soap I use to wash the equipment, but I smelled the same thing when I took the mask off at the sleep lab. Guess I'm n...

why does air puff out my mouth?
I had my sleep study titration done last night and managed a few hours of sleep after trying four types of masks. The Mirage Activa Lt was the most comfortable. Just as I felt I was dropping off to sleep a puff of air would come into my mouth demanding to be released. The sleep tec thought my mouth ...

Thanks for all your information. My sleep study is scheduled for January 3. All those questions will be a great help.

How can I sleep on my back?
Are there any masks that can be used for back sleepers? Mine always seem to leak or I drown.

Re: Swift LT - Shortness of Breath
The Swift Lt is great but has a little quirk that intermittently causes a problem. One other thing is to make sure the pillows are not upside down, it is possible to install them that way and angle them about right, but the airflow is reduced. Get into to the habit of checking for these things ever...

Re: suffocating with nasal pillows
Hi, I don't think your machine is an M series, but one 'generation' back from that (I have it too), and we like to call it the "tank" because it's so reliable! You say your pressure is "4-10", but 4 is just the default lowest setting on the machine (and 20 would be the highest). Do you know if your...

Re: suffocating with nasal pillows
I can't find either my machine or nasal pillows in the list of choices so I have them listed at the end of my profile.
My pressure is from 4-10.
The humidifier is changed from 1-2 depending on the rain.
I don't have the ramp on.

suffocating with nasal pillows
The nicest part of the CPAP experience is when I wake up in the morning, take off the nasal pillows, and finally breath nice fresh air. Should I feel suffocated with the machine running? I'm obviously a new user and not a very happy one at that!

Re: sleep lab
The picture of my machine is not correct. It should be cpap-machine/remstar-auto-m-series-a-flex. The range of pressure is Auto 4-12 My first sleep study was an initial one. No machine was used. The person who set me up with the machine had the results of my study. My primary physician sent me a not...

sleep lab
I have been using CPAP for 4 weeks and am scheduled for another sleep lab in two weeks. My data reader screen isn't working and nobody has read my "Smart Card." I'm not convinced that the treatment is doing any good. Should I wait until I have better results before having the sleep lab?
