Re: Nasal pillows without prescription?
Thank you for the helpful responses.....for some reason I thought a prescription was needed for the pillows. The price on cpap.com is reasonable considering they last quite a while

Nasal pillows without prescription?
Hello all, I have not logged into this site for a long time, mainly because I have been working full time and going to school full time for the last (nearly) 3 years. Oddly enough, that is when I got my official diagnosis of moderate OSA(although it sure felt like severe OSA to me.) In June, I lost ...

Re: Losing weight=no cpap??
Purple, I will definitely do that to see where I am at, thanks for the suggestion! And Jamiswolf, That is another step in the process. I may have another sleep study....but will have to see how my new insurance plan handles that first, but I do want to be cautious of this no cpap idea as well. Thanks!

Losing weight=no cpap??
Hello, Its been a long time since I was on this website....working full time and attending college full time. I have lost a little over 30 lbs since the beginning of the year and for most of the summer I stopped using my cpap mask with very few mornings where I felt like I did not sleep well. My oth...

Re: Weight loss after cpap anyone?
Congrats on the weight loss! When I first started CPAP I thought I would lose some weight, but it remained the same...that is good considering I had been slowly gaining weight and having less and less energy from not resting at night. Once I was on CPAP a little over a year and had the energy to exer...

Re: LOUD SWIFT FX MASK
I switched from the swift LT to the FX....like the LT, but the FX is a better fit for me. Its very quiet except when I turn on my side sometimes and have an air leak...then I am told by my other half that its Darth Vaderish....LOL. Sometimes its just making sure you have the right pillows. I think t...

Re: Sleep Apnea, to treat or not to treat!!!
Dear cyklopps I understand your being skeptical about whether something is medically necessary. Given the fact that medicine in this country is way too money driven, I'm convinced that more harm than good comes from that. I also would ask that you just do as much research as possible on the effects ...

Re: Why do we still wake up?
I also wake up quite a bit some nights for no obvious reason. In the beginning of my CPAP therapy, I slept like a baby with no wake ups...I think mainly because I was soooo exhausted and needed had a lot of sleep debt. But once I was past all that and felt my normal energy and sleep patterns come ba...

Re: taking off mask while asleep
You are definitely not alone and it does get better (assuming you have a mask that is comfortable and is the right fit). Once in a great while I still do it too...but very rarely. When it was more often, I could have set the alarm, but I did not want to disturb my other half with that. Turns out, I ...

Re: Cpap supplies, delivered or mailed by DME's?
Cardiosom is my DME and they will mail my supplies too. However, I just live a few blocks away from the place so I typically just stop by and get them. I only deal with them every three months so its usually a visit so they can read the card in my machine too. After reading some of the other posts a...

Allergy issues that make CPAP a pain
I have had allergy issues off and on for a while now and I am wondering if it has something to do with my mask or rather the kind of material it is made of. It may not be a cause, but I wonder if it is aggrevating the issue. Does anyone else have this problem or have some ideas? My numbers have been...

Re: Poll: How Prepared Are You Regarding A Cpap Backup Plan
It sounds like I am less prepared than most, but I kinda have a "cross that bridge when I get there" way of thinking. I have extra hoses, masks, etc., mainly because I get them every 3 months because my insurance will pay for them and at any time I could be without insurance. So, whether I need them...

Re: I Am So Angry
Thank God someone intervened with this woman's care. There are many issues here, but the most glaring to me is the fact that there is not enough awareness of the dangers of OSA and the risks of lack of treatment of it. This is a great opening to find a way to get the awareness level where it should ...

Re: giving lecture..need input..DME
I can also say I have had a good and bad experience. The first DME representative I dealt with was very unreachable, disoraganized and did not seem as though she knew the product. I had already been educating myself with this site before that visit so I had an idea of what I needed to accomplish. Sh...
