Re: Sleepless with my CPAP
Tonight is night one with my CPAP. Was so excited. Wore my mask for a while while watching the Olympics and did not feel stressed. Took 1/2 ambien and decided to go for it. Managed 1.5 hours of very restless sleep before I gave up and went to the kitchen for a snack and sip of water. Stomach is cra...

Re: ResScan can't find the cardreader in Windows 8.1
I'm also inclined to think this is a Windows 8 problem. I have a netbook with Windows 8.1, and nothing I could do with the reader got it working in ResScan 4.3, so that was a turd. My doc was nice enough to let me borrow his old reader, and this explains why he could not get the data off of my S8 s...

Re: Sleepless with my CPAP
I get to buy a new set of tires for the wife's car tomorrow. Maybe that's what is bugging me the most. Why would buying tires bug you? Money out the door when it could be avoided. I got my driver's license in high school but she just recently got hers and is still loving the newfound freedom and in...

Re: Use of vaporizing menthol in CPAP machine
I was told to only put distilled water in, otherwise it would void the warranty. I could break my machine and they would replace it, but anything but distilled water is a warranty killer. I imagine adding anything to the water would be bad. Put some Vicks on your chest or something. Working in a se...

Re: Sleepless with my CPAP
I don't think your first-night experience is much different from most of us here in the forum. It sure as heck isn't natural to have a machine forcing air into your head. Hehe. It's been almost 5 years for me, and I cannot say exactly how my first night was. Once I got accustomed to the mask and got...

Re: ResScan can't find the cardreader in Windows 8.1
I have problem with ResScan finding my cardreader. A couple of years ago I managed to buy a cardreader, a ACR38U-SPL non CCID, that's compatible with ResScan. I then had Windows 7 64-bit. Everything went fine and I was able to transfer data from my Resmed S8 via the datacard. But after a while ResS...

Re: How to sleep with mask?
Thanks so much for some very helpful replies... To answer HerbM's question, I'm using the mask that came with the machine I got from my DME (Mayo Clinic Rochester). They have two with heated humidifiers, per my prescription requirements, and I chose the one that was easiest for my arthritic fingers...

Re: EDF, RLK, and ResMed S9 data conversion
I wish someone would give you guidance on this. I'd like to try SleepyHead but I've have 4 years of data in ReScan. It doesn't look like I can transfer the data over. You can use BOTH of them at the same time. That will enable you to at least "try" SleepyHead. It seems like ResScan 4.3 removes the ...

EDF, RLK, and ResMed S9 data conversion
Good evening all! I'm enjoying my ability to fiddle around and read the data from my new S9 APAP without getting the crazy expensive S8 reader I refused to buy. I'm also really "enjoying" ResScan. I was happy to find that S9 saves data in EDK format, which is easily readable in SleepyHead on my Mac....

Re: My Sleephead info from last night
Just got an S9 last week and was wondering about my incidence of centrals. I was not expecting to have many (any?) central apneas, but I was never able to read the data from my old S8, so I cannot use that old thing as a basis for comparison. Hoping it's minor or transient, nothing major. Considerin...

Re: Understanding the DME - Insurance, Out of Pocket Costs, Etc
My DME is being paid by United, over a 12-month lease-purchase, around $900 or so for my S8 Elite II w/ humidifier. Looks like they are paying the DME retail-ish price for what is available online for about $400 less. On the plus side, I was surprised to find that my insurance was covering everythin...

Woke up without my mask on. What gives?
So, I've been using my machine for about 10 days now, and the difference is ASTOUNDING. I'm currently running 7cm pressure, and since night #1 (Dec. 4), I've been feeling like a new man in the morning. It's also helped me kick my energy drink habit! But to the important part: Last night, it seems as...
