archangle wrote:Warren, have you tried sleeping in a recliner? Maybe with a horse collar neck pillow?

It might make it better, might make it worse, but it's cheap to try if you have a recliner.
Yes, tried that but it made it worse unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: amazed at this person quitting therapy

Hi Warren, since you mention neck problems have you checked out different bed pillows? Yes Dori. My wife says, whatever cupboard in the house she opens, pillows fall out! Tried so many and none alleviated the problem. Even had one tailor made to my specs. Lost count of the so called "specialists" I...

Superband Sports Tape

Do any of the Australian members know whether this tape, recommended for mouth taping, is available in Oz? Couldn't find it on Google.

thanks

Re: amazed at this person quitting therapy

I had a sleep test to see whether sleep apnea was causing my morning headaches. They told me I had apneas during the test but only when on my back. I had no history of daytime sleepiness. The sleep specialist, however, said I should start using a cpap. I've been using it for nearly 2 years and I sti...

Re: Resmed expensive in Australia

There are a few businesses that buy US products and forward them to Australian customers. priceusa.com.au is established in Bendigo Australia. It uses a purchasing agent based in Oregon to buy goods on behalf of Price USA customers. Once the goods arrive in Oregon, the agent checks the contents of p...

Re: Constant noise in my head

I started using the Opus 360 and also experienced the noise. Strangely, it is when I breathe IN and it is coming from the exhaust holes. F&P said the noise was caused by condensation, however, I know that isn't true. I get the noise immediately I start to use it and even when I don't use the humidif...

Papcap availability

Anyone from Australia know whether the Papcap is available here? Tried the US vendors but they won't export it.

thanks

Re: New nasal pillow giving nose bridge lump? + more

Did you get the ResScan software? Here in Oz it is available free with a doctor's letter of recommendation. I adjust my CPAP pressure via the ResScan program on the PC. Very easy to adjust all machine settings there. Let's know if you need any assist.

Re: Need for humidifier

Thank you all for your generous responses. You have been very helpful. In fine weather, humidity here this time of year is around 60-65%. I'm sure the mould problem is because I haven't used distilled water. It wasn't even mentioned by the therapist when I was trained to use the gear. It is on my sh...

Re: New SWIFT FX--ANYONE using it yet?

I'm in Oz. Been using FX for about a month. I really like it. Excellent results, minimal leaks for me. Silicone strap over top of the head is too big. It has a pull through notched closure. I have a big head and the strap is almost at it's maximum tightness.

Need for humidifier

I'd appreciate thoughts on the need for a humidifier. I was convinced I should use one so I bought it with the CPAP in November and have used it each night since. I live in a sub-tropical climate in southern hemisphere where it is summer now. Has anyone lived happily without a humidifier? Reason for...

Re: Septoplasty & Turbinate surgery recovery

I'm in Australia. I had my septoplasty & turbinate reduction done here last April. Prior to that I'd wake up each morning with one or both sides completely blocked. Surgery has fixed that and the airways are really good. The only issue I have is one nostril often whilstles when I breathe - very very...

Re: resmed swift fx

I'm in Australia. I tried three other masks (LT, Opus, Mirage) before trying the Swift FX. I found the FX to be excellent. I'm a side sleeper and it allows me to do that with more comfort than the others I tried. Very little leakage. The two straps are so minimal I hardly feel them at all as I don't...

Re: Need to change CPAP pressure?

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. I've gone back to the nasal pillows with addition of a home made strap (pantyhose leg) that secures the pillows in place allowing me more freedom to sleep on my side. Many thanks to rested gal for this suggestion.

Need to change CPAP pressure?

I was using a nasal pillows mask with pressure setting of 7cm. I'm predominently a side sleeper which resulted in the pillows often being dislodged resulting in major leakage. I'm now trialling the ResMed Mirage Activa LT. The pressure setting remains at 7cm. I've been using it only for a few days, ...
