Re: Worried after not sleeping much in my first sleep study
Wait for the report. I managed 42 min of sleep on the study although I did not realize it, but it was enough to get the diagnosis. Recommendation was to repeat or go on an auto 7cm to 15 at home then do a titration with a sleep aid. Did the auto and titration pressure was close to where the auto sho...

Re: Resmed Not Allowed on cpapauction
If Resmed products were not ordered, and refused by customers customers of DME's and people simply ask for alternatives to their products which by the way is your right then shipments from their warehouses would slow as a DME if they want to score a sale will find you an alternative product if you i...

Re: 4 month check up today...another sleep study
In my sleep study I got only 45 min but enough to also be given an auto with a 7-15 range. Went back for titration and 14 was the bogie and I knew it. The Pulmonologist suggested auto with the range of 11-15 and have not looked back since. Auto is the only way to go!!!!

Re: Checking data too often?
As long as I feel good and the machine is doing what it is supposed to do I just look at avg ahi on the machine which is usually 2.5 or less. I will run a report every so often.

Re: When will I start to feel better?
Elisha. By all means next obtain software and educate yourself on what it all means for your treatment. You will probably have to ask for pressure changes to get the optimum treatment as the industry just seems to have a 5 or less AHI bogie and that is it. You need to be able to see possible events ...

Re: supine lost forever
I too started out with Q but now use an ultrmirage nasal mask and I never thought I would ever sleep supine but now I do and very well. Most nights 6+ hrs and no problems with open mouth either. Never say never you have to experiment to get the best you can.

BEER VS WINE
I know that alcohol is not recommended B4 sleep but in my experience a nice glass of good red wine a couple hours prior to retiring helps me most of the time sleep straight through the night anywhere from 6-9 hrs. Now I can have 2 beers same time period and seems I have to get up anywhere from 1 to ...

Re: Frequency at which you see your sleep Doc...
I had sleep test ordered by ENT I was seeing for another issue. I went back for last follow-up for that issue, he looked at his notes, examined me and said I was good to go, not one word about the sleep apnea and its treatment. I might add he did not order the apap thet was done by the pulmonologist...

I have a brother in law on cpap and he does not even know whether he is fixed, auto, or what his pressure is and does not seem concerned at all. He is every DME's dream of a patient.
