equipment question
How often do you replace parts with your equipment? I've been using the ResMed Mirage Softgel Nasal Mask since mid-January. In a conversation with the supplier today, she said I should be replacing the nose piece every two weeks? She also said I should replace the filter on my machine every two week...

New mask - it works!
Thanks to this forum - especially Spirit - I'm sleeping so much better! Last night, I slept almost six hours without waking up. I was having major problems getting to sleep and staying asleep. Several of you made wonderful suggestions. I had not thought it was the mask (I had been using nasal pillow...

Re: Help - Mask setting
I know I"m probably being really dense, but I looked at the guide. I can get to the point where it says mask change and then mask apply but no matter which buttons I push next it still says swift...I can't seem to figure out how to get it to the other options!

Help - Mask setting
I got a new mask today to see if it would help with the staying asleep issues, but I forgot to ask how to change the setting on the machine for the new mask. I ot a MIrage Soft Gel Nasal CPAP. Right now, my Elite II is set for Swift because I had nasal pillows. Can anyone tell me how to change it?

Re: Falling and staying asleep?
EPR is set on medium. Don't know how to change that. Re the numbers: I followed instructions posted on this forum and look at the data that way (before noon) on my machine. Don't have any special reader or anything. I don't think I have any special stress in my life. In fact, life is pretty good - i...

Re: Falling and staying asleep?
Spirit: Your situation sounds a lot like mine. A couple of dumb questions: When you decided to try a new mask, how did you figure out what other kind of mask to get? Did you try those hybrids too or just go right to the full face mask? And I'm assuming whatever mask I get I'll have to buy because in...

Re: Falling and staying asleep?
Sorry. No leg movement wasn't a problem. Folks speculated that the knee pain was caused by arthritis or finally getting a good night's sleep and not moving. Ironically, now that I'm not sleeping well, the knee pain is gone!

Re: Falling and staying asleep?
Just turned 57 and past menopause. So I don't think that's it.

Falling and staying asleep?
I switched from an Escape to an Elite in about mid-December. I had been sleeping quite well with the Escape (sometimes 7 hours straight a night) but wanted to see my numbers and monitor leaks. Just after Christmas I started having a LOT of trouble getting to sleep and was sometimes awake for hours. ...

Re: panicking + sleep trouble
I start with 4 and eventually go to 8 - both relatively low settings. The weird thing is it worked so well in the beginning. I think I went with the longer ramp because I (at least in my head) feel more panicky when it's blowing harder. On an Elite, can I readjust my own settings or if I want to try...

panicking + sleep trouble
I went on CPAP Nov. 17 and was proud at how quickly and easily I adapted. I was sleeping 7 hours straight in no time. (I started with an Escape and switched to an Elite so I could monitor my numbers). My numbers also looked good.( Average leak 0.14, AHI 1.91, AI 0.24, HI 1.6). My problem: All this w...

Re: Escape vs Elite II
Should I be concerned about 0.12 leak rate? Or that the AHI is 3? My husband said he heard it leaking last night when I turned over. I had been using the elastic fix to keep the pillows in place better that someone on the forum suggested with the Swift LT. But when my pap-a-cheeks came in we took th...

Re: Escape vs Elite II
My Elite II finally came in and the DME told me I still wouldn't be able to read the data myself. But I followed the instructions on this post and got some numbers off of it this morning (after my second night using it instead of Escape). Now can someone please tell me what the numbers mean or what ...
