Re: Which is the quietest mask?

This weekend,I tried both Resmed Mirage Micro and Mirage Activa LT.The sizes are both Large and Wide. However, they were not quiet at all.Even they were noiser than my present Profile Lite. And the noises came continously and constantly, not like my Profile Lite when exhalation was noisy. Now,seemed to f...

Re: Newbie,thinking of giving up

Pugsy and DoriC,thanks a lot for your own stories. Will try to check the data again tonight.

Wake up unfreshed? Is it common for most of the people?

Pugsy, when did you start with the CPAP?The time of therapy will also matter,I think.Wish you good luck.

Re: Which is the quietest mask?

Last night,I heard and sensed very carefully the noises, which came actually when I inhaled. And quite when I exhaled. When facing the noise issue,it comes when you inhale or exhale the air?

Re: Where can I buy a CPAP machine

Ebay doesn't allow them to be sold there, not even "complete" masks, only parts. Although, so people have been creative in their listings :http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230402461038&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Amazon.com has a few used ones on there quite often from individual sell...

Re: Where can I buy a CPAP machine

Try Craigslist.com for used machines. I checked some China cities and found 2 available in Shanghai. Might be one in some other cities also. What a great idea, LSAT! I checked eBay last night but didn't see any. I hadn't even thought of Craigslist, although I have searched there locally for CPAP be...

Re: Where can I buy a CPAP machine

I am from India, I too had the same experience and decided to go for the Respironics machine. The price difference is about 2.5 times what cpap.com sells the same machines for - further our insurances do not cover OSA treatments or equipments. So paying every additional $ hurts. I did not want to r...

Re: Newbie,thinking of giving up

[quote="peppi"]I wonder if your Aflex setting is similar to ResMeds EPR setting.
I changed my setting from 3 to 2 last evening and I notice the machine responds quicker to inhale than on 3.
How did you find that?Very surprised to know.

Re: Newbie,thinking of giving up

Yes, it is hard to give any meaningful advice right now, but you can reset the therapy usage to 0 as below. Also, if you're not having too much trouble exhaling with that relatively low pressure, you might want to lower the Aflex to 2 or 1 and see if that makes a difference. Keep us updated and don...

Re: Newbie,thinking of giving up

Sleepybaby, you said you're in China? Isn't the internet wonderful? I'm so glad you found this forum, and that there are many people here who want to help. As you can see from my avatar, I am Chinese, born in Canada, but my mother was born in Canton province. I've lived in the US for 25 years, afte...

Re: Newbie,thinking of giving up

Hi, The numbers that you report above do not look too bad. It might be helpful reset the numbers to zero so you can see one day results rather than the 7 and 30 day averages. It looks like they have trended down. I agree that resetting will help me better to understand the differences. My next ques...

I found here in the forum that many people said that the pillow masks are much noiser than the nasal masks.
