Re: Yes I know I got to wear it

Geez maybe at this point you should ask for another sleep study; maybe if you’re being observed the techs at the clinic can tell you what’s going on. I’m still taking my mask off in the middle of the night too, but I haven’t even reached two months yet…so I want to give it more time before I go back...

Re: Sleeping with a cold

I used to flush my sinuses when I got a cold, but I don’t anymore because the last two times I did that, I ended up with an ear infection. I guess every body is different.

What I was wondering was if you can put that Vick’s liquid in your cpap humidifier?

Re: Can't get rid of the apneas

I would see an ENT and find out if you have a deviated septum;if so,that can be corrected though surgery. It may not stop snoring or apnea, but it will take care of the nasal congestion.

Re: what a huge difference, pillow size

Yep pillow size made all the difference to me when I couldn’t figure out why my mask kept leaking at night. It’s nice to have a support group full of knowledgeable good people.

Re: New to cpap

Little bit of a set back last night yep. I took off the mask because I felt like I was suffocating again. I did put it back on after some time, not sure how much, but since my humidifier was still 3/4 full I have to assume; I slept longer without cpap. Fortunately I feel rested this morning… so I gu...

Re: Murder by reason of OSA

I must’ve missed something because the way I read it was that the guy killed his wife due to a hallucinogenic dream brought on by antidepressants; didn’t see anything about OSA.

Re: What is the best chinstrap out there?

I use the Premium chin strap that I bought from cpap.com, it seems to work fine. I paid $24 for it and $6 shipping; I think it was worth it. It has a strap that goes around the back of your head to keep it in place better than your standard chin strap. I didn’t opt for the hat because I get hot real...

Re: New to cpap

Alright it looks like I’m on the right path now; bumped up my air pressure to 10.5 last night and set my humidifier to 4. I was able to sleep with the mask all night without ripping it off. I did have some dry throat issues on a couple occasions, but am learning to take a few seconds to swallow some...

Re: Do you have IBS?

IBS was my very first symptom before all the other ones came crashing down on me. I suppose the two could be related, I have read literature that states people with chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia and CFS may have underlying sleep conditions that prevent them from reaching a deep state of sl...

Re: New to cpap

Thank you all I will make it a priority to add my equipment info tonight. Interesting thing regarding the pressure; my machine is set at 10 prescribed by the sleep clinic, and I had lowered it to 8 thinking I was getting blasted with too much pressure. I think tonight I am going to kick it up to 11 ...

Re: Husband not supportive

Sounds like he’s being a bit insensitive and probably doesn’t realize it; I know for years I didn’t even think my own condition was a big deal. If it weren’t for my wife’s persistence I would’ve never sought help for it.

New to cpap

Hello fellow cpap people! I'm the new guy; I’ve had my M series machine for about a month now and hadn't been able to use it much because it would dry my throat out something awful. I finally got my insurance to approve a humidifier for it, which seems to work a little better. I also use a chin stra...
