Re: Hypopneas while awake.
I get that it shouldn't be recording during settling. I get that I can easily discount ones from when I know I was awake. I'm just wondering if I should even pay attention to hypopneas at all if it thinks my breathing is inadequate even when I'm very much awake when the machine isn't settling. My HI...

Hypopneas while awake.
OK, I initially thought it was strange, but maybe just an anomaly, so I decided to observe it for awhile. At this point I can honestly say that my machine is recording hypopneas while I'm still awake. Huh? Do I just not fit its definition of normal? Anyway, this has me on the verge of discounting it...

Re: Sleeping through the night
I've tried lots of things for sleep maintenance with varying degrees of success. I still haven't solved it completely, but it's much easier to deal with than it used to be. Getting back to sleep used to be hard. It' not so much anymore. Here's what I've found to be the most useful in my own body; Ma...

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP
Sounds like you're healing much better than I did. The first night in my own bed, I soaked an alarming number of washcloths with blood. My OTO repacked my right nostril at some ridiculous hour in the morning, he was so concerned. After that, healing took about twice as long as the estimates, causing...

Re: Fifth Night
Works flawlessly, even in VMWare Fusion running XP SP2 on Mac OSX 10.6. I got my summary data, detailed data, and changed settings (way easier to do in ResScan.) Coincidentally, my Contec CMS50E pulse-ox arrived today. Its software also works perfectly in VMWare. Tomorrow morning, I'll be positively...

It just arrived moments ago. I'll try to post a review after work today.

Damn. It'll be hard to be on alert for that when I'm unconscious.

Re: Question for the ResMed SmartCard Hackers
If you want things simple, buy a Resmed ACR38U-NPC. If you want things cheap, you need to put some effort in yourself I have a degree in macgyvery Self evidently not! As I stated, had you read thoroughly, I searched the forums before asking the question. From your lofty perch, it may be obvious who...

Re: DME was PISSED.
As I believe I said in my post, I agree with you. I know. Mostly, at least. I was just making my position as clear as possible. At the root of it, I think everyone can agree that it's a shame the system is set up in such a way that patients should be put in the position of feeling as if they're at ...

Re: DME was PISSED.
By the way, it's a statistical nit, but I wanted to help clarify the meaning of a few words. The mean is the average. The median is just the center number in a sorted list. Those can be quite different. Not a nit at all. In fact, I do vaguely recall that. My higher education was a bit tempestuous, ...

Re: DME was PISSED.
Hope that helps explain why the machine manufacturer provides both the average and the 90th percentile number. It does. You've very successfully put in plain english some concepts that were sort of kicking around in the back of my brain, but hadn't coalesced. Thanks. Now, if I'm basing a setting de...

Re: DME was PISSED.
I certainly understand why you'd be upset over the treatment you received at your DME. Its only "good business" to provide the patient with what they want. There are certain factors that go into what machine your provided. #1 is your prescription. If your prescription is for a static pressure, your...

Re: DME was PISSED.
Your DME is lucky they managed to keep your business. They are, but unbeknownst to them, I was motivated to keep them. I shopped around, and could have brought my rental down by almost $10/month, but that DME was considerably farther away. Proximity is key with gas this expensive. Fortunately, I ha...
