Re: Oximeter - how good a diagnostic tool?
I experimented a little during a nap one afternoon, with the Oximeter and no Xpap. The results were what I expected. In a word, scary. What a difference Xpap makes.

Re: How miserable were you before diagnosis?
I had experienced some health issues for a long time, and they just kept getting worse. I would have bad acid reflux during the night and used antacids constantly as well as prescription medicines. They helped, but problem was always there. Also, I would get up every 1.5 to 2 hours to pee. Seems lik...

Re: First time doing the titration study
Muse-Inc, I agree with your post about the backup equipment and I am in the process of gathering extra supplies. The hard one will be a backup machine due to the cost. Glad to see that you are lowering your settings by your success with weight loss. I need to get on a weight loss program myself. I w...

Re: RESMED filter question
I have a ResMed VPAP S, and I believe both machines use the same filter, for S8 machines. My filters are 1 3/8" on the wide end and they are 1 3/8" long and of course blue and white. The ResMed part number is 33916.

Re: First time doing the titration study
There is one more thing I would add. At my titration, which was my first experience with wearing a mask. After the technician adjusted the mask on my face and started the machine, she continued talking to me. I, not knowing better, continued trying to talk to her. And I do mean trying. I was having ...

Re: HELP!!!
Sorry to here about your pain problems. I have been on my machine for only 3 months now, and have a fairly high setting of 20 cm H2o, which has taken some getting used to I'll admit. But has caused no pain as you described. However, during Thanksgiving, while spending several days with relatives, I ...

Re: Change of Insurance
Good idea. At this point in time I don't have an ID or group number with the new insurance, so they won't answer any specific questions yet. But hopefully I will soon. At least before the old one runs out I hope. Thanks for the tip.

Change of Insurance
Hello all, I am fairly new with sleep apnea therapy. I received my Resmed VPAP S about 6 weeks ago and have been using it every night along with a Resmed Liberty full face mask. At my first sleep study, my AHI was 92.6, which of course is severe. Machine settings determined at my titration are high ...
