Re: Depressed newbie saying hi
Welcome! My advice is DON'T GIVE UP! You will not magically feel wonderful overnight. I think it took me quite a while to repay my "sleep debt".....or perhaps I'm still repaying it?? I am now sleeping 6 hours uninterrupted after almost 18 months on the mask. I feel great! Sometimes I fall asleep wit...

Re: Swift LT for her question.
The Swift LT for her is the first and only mask I have ever used and I love it! I too struggled at first, but you will with any mask. Here are some things I did to help: 1. Use a minuscule amount of lanolin lotion around your nostrils, this will help the seal. 2. If you have enough hair, pull it out...

Re: Used Melatonin? Comments Please
I just started using it this week. My doc suggested 3mg per night. I still wake during the night, but seem to get back to sleep easier, so far anyway. I did have a hard time waking up in the morning, so you may want to start with half a pill or take early, like 9pm or so.

Try placing the machine on a "library stool" about 12 inches off the ground beside your bed. You won't believe what a difference getting the sound lower will help. also, purchase a $20 sound machine. I have one on my bedside table on the "rain" setting. I don't hear my machine at all.

Re: OT: Skechers Shape-ups
I too have been considering these. I work with a woman who was prescribed a pair of Mary Jane's with the same kind of sole by her podiatrist. They help her feet, but she was wearing really cheap shoes before. I wear asics Gel-Kinetic 2. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. If anyon...

Re: Sore back with CPAP?
I had back and neck paid when I first started cpap. I purchased a buckwheat pillow and started paying attention to my head position/body position. I was used to sleeping more on the side leaning toward the front of my body. When I started cpap, I kept my body in that position buy my head had to stay...

Re: My aerophagia nightmare has ended! (or has it!)
Occasionally, I get bouts of aerophagia. Not quite sure why, but they sure are painful. I think it has to do it I eat too much for dinner (not necessarily too close to bedtime), or that certain foods sit in my stomach longer. Maybe it's acid reflux opening the LES... maybe I'm just loony. Today, it...

Re: Don't miss what was BAD, until it's back!
I had forgotten I use to forget stuff all the time. Does that mean I'm getting better or worse, that I forgot I use to forget stuff? Well, at least you didn't nearly say "I love you" to your kid's doctor before hanging up the phone today, as I nearly did. Ironically, had I done so, that would have ...

Don't miss what was BAD, until it's back!
My 7 yr old daughter (and I) was us most of the night sick to her stomach last night. My oldest was doing some shopping for me after school today. I had just spoken to her on the phone and almost immediately called her back and asked "Will you also get some Sprite for your sister?" She replied "You ...

Re: Severe Vitamin D Deficiency...So Bummed!
So, I'm having my doctor run some labs to check different things: CBC (calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc.), full thyroid panel (TSH, T3, T4 and Thryoid Antibodies), parathyroid hormone (PTH) and Vitamin D. Guess which Vitamin D test he wrote down? 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D !!! I didn't see on the l...

Re: blu light therapy
My daughter's psychiatrist recommended only the white light at 10k lux. I purchased http://www.amazon.com/NatureBright-SunTouch-Plus-Light-Therapy/dp/B000W8Y7FY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1267743946&sr=1-1 and she uses it every morning and it works great!
