I developed pneumonia the very week i was starting cpap......between the congestion and coughing, I also could not use my nasal pillows. I just sat in the recliner for about a week to sleep..........not ideal, but better than the alterative.

Ginger, Seems to me if you're not having any problems without the humidifier, why go back? My brother has been using a cpap for several years, and just within the past few months decided to drop the humidifier.
