Re: Don't blame RT/DME
Very early in this thread I stated my opinion that a DME/RT looking to pass the blame to others should stay away. I should have done a better job explaining my position. One person in particular took it upon himself to call me ignorant! I've been called a lot of things in my 45 years on this earth a...

Re: Don't blame RT/DME
Please go away! I feel my space being violated by you. Go and speak to your colleagues about your professions transgretions against your clients and how you as an industry will fix them. When you have your house in order then and only then come back and report.

Re: Don't blame RT/DME
Information is dangerous. We need to be protected from ourselves. Can you imagine the havock we could cause if we were better informed. It is for our own good that we not know the inner workings of the machine that gives us the breath of life. All we need to know are the basics...how to turn it on, ...

I tie a little slip knot fishing weight to the wipes attached to about six and a half feet of fishing line and drop the wieght down the hose I then pull the wipe through, I do this a couple times you also need to...

Hose covers at the dollar store!!!
I've been looking for a hose cover for weeks...my old tube socks, although effective, are not very attractive. I'm not very handy with a sewing machine or I would make my own and the local seamstress wanted eight dollars to sew one together for me...and that did not include the material. I was about...

Re: I Might be an Ex-Taper!
That's awsome! One day I will no longer be a mouth breather too. According to my RT it's simply because while I was suffering from apnea I needed to breathe through my mouth to get enough air into my lungs when gasping for air...a learned response that can be unlearned? Congrats.

Re: Will drinking alcohol effect my cpap treatment.
I should have quit drinking when I quit smoking! Although maybe I have quit drinking...I used to have a couple of glasses of wine or maybe a Makers Mark Whisky to unwind but have not done so in the four weeks I've been on cpap. I don't feel a need to have a drink it's just I miss the little buzz. Oh...

Will drinking alcohol effect my cpap treatment.
I'm so thrilled with the results I have had, I'm worried about the effects of alcohol on my sleeping. I've been doing this four weeks and really don't want anything to set me back. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I can't remember when I've slept this much!
I'm worried I may be overdoing this sleep thing. I'm waking up once maybe twice to wipe my mouth off, drool will causes leaks. I'm probably sleeping 7-8 hrs. a night. I haven't slept that much since boot camp over 27 yrs ago. I don't need a pot of coffee in the morning, an afternoon double shot latt...

Re: clastrophobia and the mask
I had the same problem when I started just three weeks ago. Apparently I breath through my mouth while sleeping...I snore like a chainsaw or I mean I used to snore. I tried several fullface masks but was so upset having a mask over my face I could not get any sleep. My DME suggested the Mirage Liber...

Re: what benefits does a DME give?
On day one my DME walked me through the basics. On day two he assured me that what I was experiencing was normal. On day three he quit returning my calls! That's not true he has been really helpful, has exchanged two masks without question and even let me keep one as a back-up. The prices he showed ...

Re: Can one use clorox disinfecting wipes to clean mask?
I do clean my face with them! My hands too! In Iraq those and baby wipes were or are a hot commotitty. On my first tour (Desert Storm) my mom used to send me flea collars that i would wear around my ankles and wrists, thats now discourged. Look at the active ingridients on the clorox wipes and you'l...
