Re: New Z1 cpap machine. Smallest, lightest, and battery too
Ordered on today. I'll let you know how it goes but not having an external battery could be huge for me. Fingers crossed.

A totally weird way to 'redefine' what everyone is already used to. Agree.RogerSC wrote:How about putting the words "Leak Warning" on the display instead of "Reminder"

New mattress HUGE
We had a Stearns & Foster mattress that was stupid-firm (sorry can't remember the model. Is 'stupid-firm' their official description? It should be.) that we have disliked for years but after spending $2k you are stuck with it for a while... Anyway we just bought a new one (another S&F but a little s...

Re: New Z1 cpap machine. Smallest, lightest, and battery too
Looks like a couple c-notes more than my travel blower. OK. I did the math on what never having to plug-in would mean. I assume this machine will be operable for 5 years. The result of dividing the cost of the machine + the battery over 5 years= .60¢ per day. But I'm sure the battery will lose its ...

45c is 113F. Who sleeps in 115F temperatures? If you are sleeping in 115F you have much bigger problems than sleep apnea...-tim wrote:It also only works to 45 deg C. Every check the high temps for many parts of the world? I guess not.

Re: New Z1 cpap machine. Smallest, lightest, and battery too
cpap.com posted pricing info. Kind of premium $ but if you want the smallest, most portable, with a battery it makes sense. Especially if you travel, camp, etc... I think they will sell a bunch of these.

Re: New Z1 cpap machine. Smallest, lightest, and battery too
Perhaps one could 'adapt' one of those 'waterless humidifier' fittings from a Transcend machine onto the hosing. On cpap.com they have it listed as coming with 2 HMEs ( https://www.cpap.com/productpage/z1-travel-cpap-machine.html ). Not a humidifier but itv will do in a pinch Also found this video ...

Re: What type of xPAP do you use?
FYI- I am using a PureSom CPAP Machine with Full Advantage Full Face CPAP Mask with 4 Point Headgear. (rental equipment until I get the permanent. Without reference point I am not sure how good it is but the mask definitely leaks and there is no reduction of presssure at all.
Thanks again!

What type of xPAP do you use?
I am really curious what other people use as their primary therapy. If you use something not referenced please put it in a note FYI- I am a new CPAP user (for now) but I am interested in something that give less 'pushback'. Just curious about everyones' experience with finding the right 'pap' for th...

Re: Insurance and getting an expensive machine?
Yeah, well, you can't even buy a bi-level out of pocket from cpap.com or cpapauction.com w/a CPAP script, you MUST have a script for a bi-level to buy a bi-level, even out of pocket, from any reputable source. Take the issue up w/the FDA if you like. My point was that a trained doctor cannot write ...

Re: Insurance and getting an expensive machine?
MOST insurances insist you FAIL CPAP therapy before they will pay any towards a bi-level except under specific circumstances verified by your sleep doctor and PSG results. Wow. It is ridiculous that a doctor would have to get permission from a pencil pusher. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise thoug...

Insurance and getting an expensive machine?
Hey all. I am curious what others do when they want an expensive machine that will not be fully covered by insurance. I am looking at the S8 VPAP Auto 25 BiLevel Machine ($1300 at cpap.com). This is the one my uncle uses and he loves it. Unfortunately my insurer follows the medicare schedule. How do...
