Re: Health Update

So far, cross your fingers, the chemo is going well. It's almost been 24 hours, and aside from a little dizziness and vertigo, I haven't had any other problems. Keep your fingers crossed it stays that way. The dr. said my counts are great and he's pleased. I'm so relieved to get this started -- this...

Health Update

Just a quick update. I had another bone marrow biopsy last Friday and it is clear so I am in partial remission! I have been home for almost 2 weeks -- Wow it's good to be home after 5 weeks in the hospital. I had a seriously ill cat (kidney disease) and wonderful friends and family basically kept he...

Re: OT: what a long, strange trip it's been

Thanks to all for the good wishes -- I believe they really help. I am currently on the rehab unit learning to walk and get my strength back. Because of the induced coma and the lung problems, I have been on massive steroids which have really done a number on my muscles. Add to that my ongoing, month...

Re: OT: what a long, strange trip it's been

As to the hair loss. Just think of it as a fashion forward thing. You will be going with the "Bald is Beautiful" look: http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainment/nm_portman_ssv_.jpg [img] And I'm not being flip about this. As you can see from the photos, "Bald is Beautiful" is a fashion subtrend. Th...

OT: what a long, strange trip it's been

i just wanted to let all of my cpap buddies know that I have been in the hospital since jan. 13th. I was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. I went to an er here in denver and never got to go home and process it all. My blood counts were some of the lowest they had ever seen. I had my 1st c...

Re: The mini ice age starts here

It was sunny and fairly warm here in Denver today. So far it's been a really cold winter but we've had a few nice days to balance out the artic blasts!

I thought that at first but the bag is sealed and there is a RESMED booklet with the filters. Oh well, I'll continue researching cuz I don't think these are the correct ones.

RESMED filter question

I think the DME sent me the wrong filters for my RESMED VPAP Auto 25. My filter is blue and white and is somewhat square. The filters they sent me are blue and white but are a more narrow, rectangular shape. I called them and was told that they are the correct filters and I should "mold them to fit ...

Re: Nasal Dryness--Nosebleed

I've been having the same problem. I've never had a nosebleed in my life and now every time I blow my nose, it's alarming to see all of that blood come out. It has been very cold and dry here so I'm guessing my nose is just exceptionally dry with all that air blowing in it... I've been using Ocean n...

1. Find a source of income. 2. Do more creative things regardless of type & whether I complete the project. 3. Lose at least 50 more #s. 4. Resume regular exercise. 5. Get my thyroid system functional again as it will help with 2-4. 6. Ensure I'm getting the 8 hrs of sleep every night that I need t...

Re: Slept 14 hours straight still tired

Hi Spirit -- sorry you are having fatigue issues. I'm also struggling with intermittent physical fatigue which is a frustration. Just a thought -- have you had your B-12 levels checked? When mine were at their lowest, my muscles were so weak I didn't feel I had the strength to do anything and all I ...

Re: IPA switched DMEs on me--is this typical?

Does anyone have anything good to say about Apria (please)? I just posted earlier this week that so far I haven't had any problems with Apria -- but I didn't get my CPAP equipment through them so maybe that makes a difference. I have had 2 overnight oximeter tests as well as a few months of nightly...

Re: DME: I'm paying the ROBBERS!!!!

I've actually had better luck with Apria than the other DME my pulmonologist recommended. My PCP had Apria deliver both a pulse oximeter and an oxygen concentrator and the customer service has been excellent -- they've been very pleasant to deal with. The mom and pop DME that I'm currently dealing w...

Re: On creating a new dominant story

YIKES! Also, it could be attributable, at least in part, to the 80%-solids L.A. air I breathe all day. -M I went to college in Claremont outside of Ontario, CA. and I was there a month before I realized the campus was surrounded by mountains. It took the Santa Anas to blow all of the smog away!
