Re: Problems with the mask

Dear all, In the last months we had various issues with the CPAP machine and the mask. We have purchased a new 'Philips Amara Gel Full Face CPAP Mask' since our old one broke but even though it is the same size and model my husband complains that the fit is different and it is leaking. This has res...

Re: Do you have a backup XPAP machine and have you ever had to use it?

I’m newish to this so forgive me but what is a straight pressure machine? Talking about the capabilities of the machine. Straight pressure or fixed pressure capability only vs the ability to use a mode that will let the pressure auto adjust as needed. Machines that are capable of auto adjusting mod...

Re: Do you have a backup XPAP machine and have you ever had to use it?

Craigslist and OfferUp. Also, there are some good folks offering used machines here as well. If you buy from someone not local, use Paypal. They provide some protection if the machine turns out to be other than advertised. My never-even-taken-out-of-the-plastic-zero-hour Airsense for Her came from ...

Re: Do you have a backup XPAP machine and have you ever had to use it?

What is your go to site to look for and buy a back up unit? I would turn to Second Wind CPAP first and foremost. https://www.secondwindcpap.com Thanks! I do keep coming back to that site, seems like it’s a very good place. I have no firsthand experience dealing with Second Wind (hehe) but I've hear...

Re: High Pitched Noise

If you want to purchase from a supplier where there is some sort of warranty available I would recommend seconwindcpap.com. The offer both gently used low hour previously owned/used machine with a limited warranty and new open box zero hour machines with full 2 year manufacture's warranty. https://...

Re: High Pitched Noise

Biggest drawbacks to my thinking for those tiny travel machines is noise and lack of adequate humidification. For the units that have humidification option available by the time you add it you are just about at the size of a regular unit but still have the chance of increased noise being a factor. ...

Re: High Pitched Noise

The model 460 is the System One Pro 60 series Pro CPap. I just wanted to make sure you weren't using some sort of really different high end machine of some kind. Didn't want to tell you about a machine that wouldn't fit your needs. Since you prefer to use your insurance you will have to find out fi...

Re: High Pitched Noise

I have a respironic system one with a humidifier, There are several different models in the System One model line. Look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit number for the model number. May have DS or REF in front or behind those 3 digits and maybe a P at the end. Need to know those 3 dig...

Re: High Pitched Noise

That sounds more like a DME in house rule than an insurance rule. But often DMEs will tell a whopper and blame it on the insurance. 90 day RX expiration date is ridiculous. Can you check with your insurance company for another DME in your area that they are in network with and go to a different DME...

Re: High Pitched Noise

That's okay about the rant...I don't blame you. And not everyone lives in an area where they have a sizeable chunk of DMEs they can choose from. Where I live there was one 13 miles away (but they closed recently) and another 18 miles away and the big choices are available about an hour's drive for ...

Re: High Pitched Noise

Do you have a physical copy of your original RX for cpap machine? If so, it may not have expired. Are you wanting to use insurance to get a new machine with the RX or are you willing to just buy a new machine on your own? You could send it out to be repaired but to be honest it will likely cost mor...
