Re: First week on machine, few problems

I can keep my mouth shut(literally). I am just shocked at the explosion like force when I do open it. I moved it to the floor for tonight and set my minimum to 8 and the ramp is set for .05, which I guess is immediate. BTW, I have the humidifier on 5(the highest) and while it seems fine, there is no...

Re: First week on machine, few problems

Maybe that's why he started me at 5? At 5 it is quiet, but when it ramps up to be effective, it is noisy. Last night I found the menus and made the minimum 7, it also said my ramp was .5. So when I first got into bed, I wasn't suffocating. But around 12:30 AM I woke up from the noise and pressure fe...

Re: First week on machine, few problems

Can I make changes myself? I am going to read the booklet tonight, but I wonder how the programming is done?

Re: First week on machine, few problems

The guy that came out didn't tell me much about settings, other than that Doctor decided the settings. I think he said something about 5-15? And I think the Doctor said during my study, 11 was good for me. I don't even know how to make changes, but I haven't looked at the manual yet. Hopefully I wil...

First week on machine, few problems

Well it's now my 5th day with my own machine. They gave me a Remstar auto and LT Swift For her(does that make me gay?). While the headgear is pretty comfortable, I am having problems. When I put it on and lay down and start breathing, I have the feeling of not enough air. Like hyperventilation. My h...

Re: New here, had my cpap sleep study last night

Sounds like your on the right path. I'm curious about the full face mask you used in your sleep study. Was it chosen because you breath through your mouth at night? I've never used one because I don't have a mouth breathing issue when I sleep. If you don't either, then I would suggest you try just ...

Re: New here, had my cpap sleep study last night

My doctor called and the study result are in. Although I didn't seem to sleep well, he said I had a 2.5 hour period where they set my pressure to 11 and my AHI was 4.5. He felt it was successful. Now he sends an order to the vendor, Sleep RX, for a machine and mask. He said the machine will likely b...

Re: New here, had my cpap sleep study last night

Well this was only a sleep study to see if CPAP was helpful, which is hard to say since I didn't sleep well at all. If my Doctor reads the report and thinks I need one, he will have a CPAP Vendor come out to fit me. I worry because the study guy had 3 to choose from and none of them were good. If I ...

New here, had my cpap sleep study last night

I had an in house sleep study a few weeks ago. My doctor called and said I have a AHI of 57, which is severe. Last night the guy came back and hooked me up again and put a full face mask on me. He tightened it so much to keep it from leaking that the bridge of my nose hurts and is red and swollen. W...
