Re: Thanks to all Now it's decision S8 Auto or PR ONE
I have both machines; I got the PR System One as my first machine (started in October). Was so thrilled with how CPAP has helped me I ran out and got a backup machine...I had read good feedback on the S8 Autoset II so found a great deal on Craigslist for a new one. I'm actually working on a detailed...

Re: what kind of card is in the resmed s8 auto set ii?
No - falvesjr is right. The reader is 3 or 4" wide, while the card from the S8 is only 3/4" or whatever...you just need to line up the card with the metal contacts in the reader, or fashion/build a guide - see http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t38260/ResMed-Card-Reader-differences.html where they ha...

Re: what kind of card is in the resmed s8 auto set ii?
I suspect secret agent boy is wrong...it's this reader - http://www.smartcardsupply.com/Content/Hardware/ACR38.htm - at that site it indicates that it "supports most common memory-based smart cards, including I2C bus protocol cards (from 1K bits up to 1024K bits) and secure memory cards (Atmel AT88S...

I can confirm it's available for download from Respironics site for authorized DME's/distributors.Wulfman wrote: So far, I haven't heard from ANY sources (rumors or otherwise) that it's available to ANYBODY.

Re: Help re placement of machine (fear of leak)
I found a seller on ebay who makes really nice wood stools relatively inexpensively - http://myworld.ebay.com/swigsdaballer/ . I wanted one to specific dimensions (to fit on a lower shelf of my nightstand - raise the machine up so I could reach the buttons from bed) and he was willing to make it rel...

Re: Help paying for a cpap machine
I have sleep Apnea, and cannot afford a cpap machine. I am using one that belongs to a friend and I think it is getting ready to stop working. It has started to make a weird sound.' I do not have insurance and barely have enough money to buy food for me and my family. I go to a public clinic and as...

Re: strap marks
It's possible the straps are too tight. I use the Swift LT, and find the straps don't need to be tight at all; the pillows fit "snugly" in my nares and I don't really need a lot of tension in the straps. You can also check PadACheeks product for the Swift LT - http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_SwiftLT.ht...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
Hi everyone!
I received two new Swift LT masks (backups); will trade the (brand new never used) small & large pillows for mediums if anyone has any.
Thanks!

Re: Question for the ResMed SmartCard Hackers
What are the disadvantages with the USB port adapter ResMed makes? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-resscan-usb-adapter-cpap-machine.html You could buy a wireless USB extender to plug into it and have a pretty nice method of gathering info wireless for around $100 + the software. I was just ...

Re: Question for the ResMed SmartCard Hackers
Just wanted to provide some feedback; I ordered the ResMed reader from the link indicated: http://www.smartcardsupply.com/Content/Hardware/ACR38.htm . I received the ACR38C-SPC-R (which I couldn't get working) -- need the U vs C model. Based on this thread I contacted the supplier (iqbio.net) via em...

Re: Want to get software for my cpap machine
I think you need ResMed ResScan (version 3.7 is the latest). Check ebay, or some Australian provider is selling it (from what I've read).

Re: Need help!
I had panic/claustrophobia fears at first as well. My suggestions would be: See if your Dr. will prescribe a sleeping pill and/or anxiety medication for a few days, to allow yourself time to get acclimated to the mask. As Rustyolddude suggested - wear your mask while reading or watching TV, again to...

Re: Backup power question
I went with this APC 1000VA UPS - http://www.amazon.com/APC-SUA1000-Smart-UPS-servers-networks/dp/B00006BBK6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1257948021&sr=8-7 for my Philips Respironics CPAP. It's pure sine wave, so no issue there. I'm a fan of APC UPS's; this one allows you to disable any beep...

Re: LCD DisplayScreen
I have the System One as well; the display itself doesn't light up. I'm guessing you're referring to the backlighting? That illuminates the humidifer setting, but not the LCD (or whatever) display itself. I think this is a design flaw; the display should illuminate (helpful at night). You say initia...
