FF Mask Users how do you handle high humidity
Full face mask users (or any CPAP user). How do you handle using your mask and machine when the weather is hot and humid? Lately that has been the weather conditions in my part of the country and I find that I have a hard time keeping my mask on all night. Even if I use Claritin or Astelin before be...

Re: martin
Hi, When I was (maybe still have) having problems with a proper mask fit. My sleep doctor called the sleep lab (which he also is in charge of) and told the techs to let me take as many masks home for as long as I needed. I did just that before making up my mind as to what style worked best for me. I...

Re: Quattro users - how do you clean your mask?
Hi, I try to wash my mask daily in warm water and baby shampoo, rinse and let it dry. If I don't wash it I use the special CPAP citrus wipes to clean it. I the video that came with my mask when I got my first one said to use a non-scented non-antibacterial soap to clean it. The video takes you throu...

Re: Leg cramps.... Why now?
Hi,
Try drinking more water! I know that if I don't drink enough water I often wake up with leg cramps, sometimes very painful.

Re: Full Face Mask of Choice
mcejsul, Talk to your sleep doctor. I did and she made a call to the sleep center and made arrangements (on two different occasions) for me to borrow any number of different full face masks to try. The tecks there helped me try different models and choose the ones that I wanted to take home and try ...

Re: Pur Sleep
Hi, I have tried the Pur Sleep product but found that it was not effective for me. The scent was very strong (just one drop on the pad) and it kept me awake instead of helping me sleep. I have been told that my sense of smell is very keen, which probably was the problem of it being of any help to me...

Re: Medicare pmts. for re-titration
Hi, I just had a re-titration study done last month, after being on CPAP for four years. When my sleep doctor recommended that I have this done I asked about medicare coverage. I was told that I could have a titration done once a year and medicare would cover it. I got my "explanation of benefits" f...

Re: Floating white "scum" in my humidifier
When you used the vinegar to wash your mask did you let it sit and soak with the vinegar solution it it for about 10 minutes or so. I don't do this very often about once a month, but I do wash my water chamber out every other day with soap and water, rinse it well and replace the distilled water at ...

I have the Double Edge Papillow that I bought from capap.com. I like it very much, in fact I just received my second one today, so that I don't
have to carry it to and from between MI and AZ. My wife even liked using it and she is not a CPAP user. Check it out.

Andy,
The chin strap came with my mask. Perhaps you should ask your provider about where the chin strap is. I would think it should come with the mask.

Re: I just finished my first night with CPAP.need encouragement
Andy, I was using the same mask that you are using now. I also used the chin strap. When I went in for my second study after using my CPAP machine for 4 weeks, the technicians quickly discovered that I was a mouth breather and just as quick changed my nose mask to a full face one. I still had proble...

ANDY, HAVE A SERIOUS DISCUSSION WITH YOUR SLEEP DOCTOR. AFTER A YEAR OR SO OF HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME WITH MY FF MASK I KEPT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FIT. MY DOCTOR WHO IS CHARGE OF THE SLEEP CENTER TOLD ME TO GO TO THE CENTER AND TRY AS MANY MASKS AS I WANTED TO TRY. I DID. THEY WOULD LEAVE ME TAKE 3 ...

Just got my new REMstar Pro CPAP w/humidifier. My questions are: I have used it five nights, four of them all night long, last night I woke after four hours unable to go back to sleep. I got up and read for about an hour and went back to bed and slept for another 3 hours. The machine has only given ...

CPAP for travel
Hi,
I plan to do some extensive traveling abroad this summer. I would like to purchase a smaller/lighter CPAP machine than the one I am using now. Does anyone have suggestions as to the brand and/or model that I should consider. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks
