Re: No CPAP last night
I stopped sleeping without my CPAP about 4 months now after my pillar procedure after using the machine religiously for 10 months. I sleep 5 hours during the week and maybe 6-8 hours during the weekend.Mostly stay about 96% SO2 all night with a few drops into the 80's sometimes when I sleep on my ba...

Re: SF Chronicle Story on SA today
Stupid or not the Pillar Procedure using 6 implants and RF symnoplasty of enlarged turbinates is the ticket for a subset of individuals with no tongue collapse and an open airway. Those were my only problem areas but my AHole sleep doctor told me to use the machine or get a Trach or die!!! Up yours ...

Re: SF Chronicle Story on SA today
I had both RF turbinate reduction and the pillar procedure using 6 pillars done 7 weeks ago and I'm glad to report good results.
And what is so stupid about the comments?

Re: Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
I'm at 7 weeks out since my pillar procedure/Symnoplasty RF and last night my 02 levels were well above 90% my average was 96.7%. The lowest dip was at 90, nothing below 90 which is the first time I saw this. I can now usually go 4 to 4.5 hours straight without waking, before it was 2-3 hours and I ...

Re: Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
I had both procedures done and relatively pain free except for a very bad sore throat for a couple of days. I used my pulsometer the first three nights and only had a couple of desats to 88% and 89% those first two nights. Also my overall O2 numbers were the highest ever at 97.36 and 97.25% without ...

Re: Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
Interesting link the Forum Moderators posted on top. http://www.modernmom.com/article-5896-can-snoring-ruin-your-relationship/#jumpToArticle I'm having both the Pillar using 6 implants and Symnoplasty RF to reduce the size of m6y7 turbinates in the morning.! Re: How often do you see your Doctor?
I canceled my 6 month appointment last week and instead went to see a pillar procedure specialist and will have 6 pillars put in Tuesday. I just didn't like his attitude of use the machine or suffer the consequences without at the very least suggesting to go see a good ENT and see exactly where your...

Re: Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
I've had another consultation with another ENT who specializes in the Pillar Procedure. He too sees a good open airway, good open voice box, no tongue crowding minimal collapse, good throat opening but just a collapsible palate. I'm an excellent candidate for the Pillar Procedure. The ineffectivenes...

Re: What was first time you saw /heard of someone wearing cpap?
I was horrified when I looked up CPAP treatment on the internet and saw an old buzzard sleep with a full face mask!

Re: Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
Hi, are you on Cpap now? What machine, what mask, what reports if you've got the software? So many people have sworn against the pillar procedures because they say it loses effectiveness over a year and OSA returns, and I'm curious about your CPAP experience - if it hasn't been good, there are long...

Severe Retropalatal Collapse and Pillar Procedure
I also have minimal tongue collapse supine so my thinking is a 5 pillar procedure to stiffen my soft palate will greatly help reduce my apnea. I have minimal desats to begin with and although my AHI is 57 half are hypoapneas which some doctors wouldn't even count and my average desat is only 20 secs...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Football players?
Do you really think in the macho word of pro football that any athlete would be caught "dead" wearing a cpap mask?

Re: No mask last night
Sleepnba, Thanks for the info but my one dip to 86% was only 12 secs and heart rate was at around 68 to 88. My heart rate is higher on CPAP overall probably by overstimulating my sympathetic nevous system. I also had drops into low 80's with CPAP at times. What one fails to realize is the psychologi...

Re: No mask last nigt
Thank You all for your civility in your replies and your genuine concerns. As for my AFIB it's seems that the CPAP has caused many of my episodes, probably by the air pressure stimulating my sympathetic nervous system. My cardiologist also noticed this in my titration study I kept get going in and o...
