Re: Advice sought on pillow height

When a big guy like you raises your pillow height, you'll straighten your neck, and consequently, your airway out. It will be better for your spine and your breathing. I got just the pillow for you to use for side sleeping. I use it myself. Make sure you get the "high profile" size. http://www.conto...

Re: need some thoughts about cpap pressures

I use a Quattro and have to scratch my nose when my humidifier is set a little too high. Maybe you can try dropping the humidifier down a notch, or even shutting it off for a night, and see if that helps.

Re: masks

The nasal only masks that use nasal pillows, such as the Swift. You might want to trim the mustache down a little away from your nostrils, though.

Re: nose bleed

Recommend you not use petroleum jelly anywhere on your body. It is a petroleum product, and therefore, a carcinogen. If you must, use the Ayr's instead, but preferably nowhere near bedtime. Using it at bedtime could cause mask leaks. I also recommend the use of sterile saline nose spray during the d...

Re: newbie! help with mirage liberty full face! please

I gave up the Mirage Liberty and anything with nasal pillows. I'm using a Mirage Quattro along with a dental appliance to prevent my jaw from sliding back and a chin strap to keep my mouth closed. This is with tremendous success. My Mirage Liberty caused me (and my bed partner) more hardship than I ...

Deano: I'd feel desperate if I were you, too. At 19, you're within a stone's throw of maxing out your machine. Then what do you do? I've taken all the sleeping pills that run television commercials. None of them will to anything for OSA and, as far as I'm concerned, make an already dangerous conditi...

Why don't you take your card down to you DME and ask them to print you up a report? That's what I do.

Re: The good, the bad, and the ugly---week 1

My doctor told me that it's common for centrals to show up during sleep studies and titrations. He said that the unfamiliar experience can cause the brain to try some funny things, like tell you to stop breathing, until you get used to your CPAP. I was showing centrals until I got used to my CPAP. N...

Re: Bathroom Breaks

Do you really need to use the ramp feature? Masks tend to leak more when you use the ramp feature. Also, letting the machine run during your bb, or even using the "auto off feature, will make your leak rate appear higher than it is, essentially rendering that statistic useless. (I assume your doctor...
